Hello and welcome to my blog, Author Interviews. My name is Fiona Mcvie.

Let’s get you introduced to everyone, shall we? Tell us your name. What is your age?

Hey, my name is Lily Wallis and I’m in my thirties!

Fiona: Where are you from?

I’m from everywhere but currently reside on the east coast of the US

Fiona: Tell us your latest news.

I am currently finishing edits on my third book in the Gates of Hell series and have several other projects going as well to include a collaboration.

Fiona: When and why did you begin writing?

Years ago. My imagination has no borders and why let it go to waste?

Fiona: When did you first consider yourself a writer?

When I published my first book, that’s when it felt like an accomplishment.

Fiona: What inspired you to write your first book?

Lana Del Rey’s Album Born to Die. The book basically wrote itself while I listened to it over and over again.

Fiona: How did you come up with the title?

It came to me while listening to the song BLUE JEANS and it was mentioned in there.

Fiona: Do you have a specific writing style? Is there anything about your style or genre that you find particularly challenging?

Challenging would be the research. I spend a lot of time on it to try to make it as close to reality as possible with it still being fiction. As for my writing style, instead of labelling my chapters the traditional way, I give each one a title.

Fiona: How much of the book is realistic and are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?

The characters have some traits that I harbour, as well as others I know.

Fiona: To craft your works, do you have to travel? Before or during the process?

Luckily no lol

Fiona: Who designed the covers?

I design them myself, I’m a bit of a control freak.

Fiona: Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

It would depend on each one. Ride or Die is about never giving up, Cash is about taking risks and seizing the opportunity, and my newest, Killer will show that it’s ok to ask for help.

Fiona: Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?  Who is your favorite writer, and what is it about their work that really strikes you?

I haven’t had much time to read lately at all. My kindle has several waiting for me and I’m hoping to check out some of Jax Hart’s work.

Fiona: Outside of family members, name one entity that supported your commitment to become a published author.

Fiona: Do you see writing as a career?

Isn’t that the dream? Realistically I’m sure it won’t happen, but it would be great.

Fiona: If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?

Nope, I think it turned out pretty good.

Fiona: Did you learn anything during the writing of your recent book?

Patience and to step away instead of forcing the words.

Fiona: If your book was made into a film, who would you like to play the lead?

This is a good question. I have no idea!

Fiona: Any advice for other writers?

Keep at it and don’t let others tear you down. It’s an illusion that they have any bearing on you or your career.

Fiona: Anything specific you want to tell your readers?

I hope they enjoy the journey I send them on and I appreciate every single review, post, sale, or thank you I have received.

Fiona: What book are you reading now?

Sadly … none

Fiona: Do you remember the first book you read?

I actually don’t.

Fiona: What makes you laugh/cry?

I’m happy by nature so the little things make me laugh. As for crying, the norm. Pain, dishonesty, people who hurt children, animals.

Fiona: Is there one person, past or present, you would love to meet? Why?

Drawing a blank. I’ll say Lana Del Rey since I love her music.

Fiona: Do you have any hobbies?

I love to shop, write, play a few videogames,

Fiona: What TV shows/films do you enjoy watching?

90 day Fiance

Fiona: Favorite foods, colors,  music?

Sushi, Pizza, Black, I listen to a variety

Fiona: Imagine a future where you no longer write. What would you do?

Something artsy, painting probably.

Fiona: You only have 24 hours to live how would you spend that time?

With family

Fiona: What do you want written on your head stone?

I don’t think I want to be buried.

Fiona: Do you have a blog or website readers can visit for updates, events and special offers?
