Let’s get you introduced to everyone, shall we? Tell us your name. What is your age?
My name is Janice Dison, age 61.
Fiona: Where are you from?
I was born in Denver Colorado, grew up in Los Angeles, California
Fiona: A little about your self (ie, your education, family life, etc.).
I am what is considered a serial entrepreneur. I was educated at UCLA. I also attended court reporting school which in turn allowed me to open one of the major court reporting agencies in Beverly Hills. I was in business for over 20 years.
I’ve was married and have a Son and Stepson.
Fiona: Tell us your latest news.
My latest news is the company I started 2 years ago, RIches, Inc is beginning to thrive.
RIches is a homeopathic, gemmotherapy facial care company dedicated to age reversal and rejuvenation.
Fiona: When and why did you begin writing?
I began writing because after living one of the most fabulous lifestyles one could imagine, my life took a turn and I kept a journal about it. I started writing in 2013.
Fiona: What inspired you to write your first book?
My Lessons in Life gave me the inspiration to share with others and help them on this life journey.
Fiona: How did you come up with the title?
It could happen to you but let’s Hope not, is the title and it’s pretty self explanatory. It’s takes others through a journey in my shoes.
Fiona: Do you have a specific writing style? Is there anything about your style or genre that you find particularly challenging?
I don’t have a specific style of writing. It’s a memoir and it’s just from my voice .
Fiona: How much of the book is realistic and are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?
The entire memoir is filled with real experiences.
Fiona: To craft your works, do you have to travel? Before or during the process?
No I don’t travel to craft my works, even though my story is full of wonderful vacations.
Fiona: Who designed the covers?
I designed the cover with my photographer the cover is the entrance to my home.
Fiona: Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
The message of my memoir is everything happens as it should… let go
Fiona: Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest? Who is your favorite writer, and what is it about their work that really strikes you?
At this time the books I read are self help and metaphysical… no new authors.
Fiona: Outside of family members, name one entity that supported your commitment to become a published author.
Yes Charlotte Burley, the friend who let me dictate my story as she typed it.
Fiona: Do you see writing as a career?
No writing is not my career. Although I’m considering a sequel.
Fiona: If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?
I would not change one thing in my memoir.
Fiona: Did you learn anything during the writing of your recent book?
I learned to sell your story you must have s marketing plan and strategy.
Fiona: If your book was made into a film, who would you like to play the lead?
No, I would like Thandie Newton to play the lead.
Fiona: Any advice for other writers?
For other writers be patient. There are good days and bad days and days you are blocked.
Fiona: Anything specific you want to tell your readers?

Fiona: What book are you reading now?
I’m not currently reading.
Fiona: Do you remember the first book you read?
The first book I read was the Cat in the Hat.
Fiona: What makes you laugh/cry?
Good movies make me laugh and cry. I saw three this week. Waves, Queen and Slim and A Christmas movie. All three made me cry.
Fiona: Is there one person, past or present, you would love to meet? Why?
Oprah Winfrey because she has defied all odds.
Fiona: Do you have any hobbies?
My hobby is cooking.
Fiona: What TV shows/films do you enjoy watching?
I enjoy watching shows such as Idol, Dancing with the Stars. America’s got talent, so reality based entertainment and competition type shows.
Fiona: Favorite foods, colors, music?
My favorite food is tacos, next gumbo. My best color is red. I like a variety of music but a favorite artist is Ariana Grande.
Fiona: Imagine a future where you no longer write. What would you do?
I may not write in the future but I will always journal.
Fiona: You only have 24 hours to live how would you spend that time?
If I had 24 hours to live I would have a dinner gathering of loved ones on Newport Beach!
I would eat and discuss each persons impact on my life.
Fiona: What do you want written on your head stone?
My headstone should say… She didn’t just talk the Talk, She walked the walk.
Fiona: Do you have a blog or website readers can visit for updates, events and special offers?
