Hello and welcome to my blog, Author Interviews. My name is Fiona Mcvie.

Let’s get you introduced to everyone, shall we? Tell us your name. What is your age?

Hey, I’m Josh Davis and I’m 31 years old.

Fiona: Where are you from?

I am from the state of Michigan. Born and raised in the city of Flint.

Fiona: A little about your self (ie,  your education, family life, etc.).

I’m a horror fanatic that loves everything scary. I absolutely love collecting films and envy anything creative. As for my family; my father recently passed so now it’s my mother, older sister, gorgeous fiance, and three immaculate children.

Fiona: Tell us your latest news.

I have a collection on it’s way to shelves titled Inappropriate Literature and just finished my novel The Implosion of Chaos.

Fiona: When and why did you begin writing?

The beginning of my writing started at the age of six. I would write mini horror stories and sell them around school. Writing was my way to break away from the normal and engulf myself with my very own creations.

Fiona: When did you first consider yourself a writer?

I first considered myself a writer when I saw how much my inner circle enjoyed my work.

Fiona: What inspired you to write your first book?

Nothing inspired me. I got the notion, and wrote it.

Fiona: How did you come up with the title?

It’s a story about an “implosion” in a well kept society. The title speaks for itself upon reading the book.

Fiona: Do you have a specific writing style? Is there anything about your style or genre that you find particularly challenging?

I believe every author carries their own unique style. I think finding a broad audience that fits your style is the real challenge of it all.

Fiona: How much of the book is realistic and are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?

The book can be brutally realistic, and I hope to God I never know or experience any of it in real life. It is purely fiction from the blackness surrounding my brain.

Fiona: To craft your works, do you have to travel? Before or during the process?

No, any process of traveling consists solely in my head.

Fiona: Who designed the covers?

The cover of Inappropriate Literature was created from the combination of my vision mixed with Deadman’s Tome’s.

Fiona: Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

Violence always spreads more violence.

Fiona: Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?  Who is your favorite writer, and what is it about their work that really strikes you?

William Bradley, Toneye Eyenot, Paul Counelis, Lucio (David) Fulci, and Jim Goforth are all indie authors worth checking out.  Of course, Stephen King is my favorite. The worlds and characters he creates are unmatched. If anyone inspired me, it was him

Fiona: Outside of family members, name one entity that supported your commitment to become a published author.

Toneye Eyenot was an extraordinary help getting my work amongst the masses. He believed in my work even when I didn’t.

Fiona: Do you see writing as a career?

I’m trying with all my will and might!

Fiona: If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?

Authors are never satisfied

Fiona: Did you learn anything during the writing of your recent book?

That my writing as a whole is maturing.

Fiona: If your book was made into a film, who would you like to play the lead?

Leonardo DiCaprio. I love that fucker.

Fiona: Any advice for other writers?

Don’t quit. Don’t quit. Oh, and don’t quit.

Fiona: Anything specific you want to tell your readers?

Never put me in a box. I’ll surprise you every time.

Fiona: What book are you reading now?

Body Rides by Laymon and Elevation by King

Fiona: Do you remember the first book you read?

Of course, I’ll never forget reading Pet Sematary for the first time. It was my first full length novel.

Fiona: What makes you laugh/cry?

In this horrid society, everything does it seems. You either can laugh, or cry about it.

Fiona: Is there one person, past or present, you would love to meet? Why?

Edgar Allen Poe. Well, because it’s Poe.

Fiona: Do you have any hobbies?

My family and film take up all my time besides writing and work.

Fiona: What TV shows/films do you enjoy watching?

Classic 80’s horror, anthology films, Tales from the Crypt, and Sons of Anarchy.

Fiona: Favorite foods, colors,  music?

Tacos, blue, and I don’t discriminate against music (except country and gospel).

Fiona: Imagine a future where you no longer write. What would you do?

Toss Cheetos in the air and catch them in my mouth.

Fiona: You only have 24 hours to live how would you spend that time?

Every single second with my fiance and children.

Fiona: What do you want written on your head stone?

“This dude was fucked up!”

Fiona: Do you have a blog or website readers can visit for updates, events and special offers?
