Hello and welcome to my blog, Author Interviews. My name is Fiona Mcvie.

Let’s get you introduced to everyone, shall we? Tell us your name. What is your age?

Hi I’m Jayne, and I go by JP Sayle, I hit the magic 50 on valentine’s day this year.

Fiona: Where are you from?

I was born and raised in the Isle of Man

Fiona: A little about your self (ie,  your education, family life, etc.).

I’m married and I’ll be celebrating my 26th Wedding anniversary this month. I have one daughter and two grandbabies, one boy age two and a girl age one. I’m a nurse manager by night, and trained locally but was affiliated with Liverpool. I have a BSc in health studies and more stuff to long to name connected to nursing.

Fiona: Tell us your latest news.

I have been invited as a signing author to go to GLO in Australia in 2021 and I’m super excited for that.

Fiona: When and why did you begin writing?

I became disheartened with my full time job and I won some life coaching sessions. I went to the first one and she asked me what did I want to do, easy answer write. Then I spent a year looking at ways to make it happen. I got a part time job, after talking it over with my hubby. Dropping over half your pay is a scary thing. It took me a year after I went part time to publish my first book and I’ve never wanted to stop since.

Fiona: When did you first consider yourself a writer?

My first review, when someone took the time to give me feedback.

Fiona: What inspired you to write your first book?

I went to a creative writing group as I was struggling because all the research I did suggested write about what you know. I couldn’t do that, so the course leader said write, just write is doesn’t matter what it is just put your hands on the key board and don’t stop. Six weeks later I had over 100,000 words and the beginning of a story.

Fiona: How did you come up with the title?

Songs, pictures and the characters story. They talk, each are different. But now I also ask my FB group to help they are amazing.

Fiona: Do you have a specific writing style? Is there anything about your style or genre that you find particularly challenging?

I think because I write what comes to me, I didn’t really fit in my genre other than MM gay romance aspect. I’m a little quirky and that makes it hard to fit. I’m a pantser, I fly every time I sit down. I let the voices take me on their journey.

Fiona: How much of the book is realistic and are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?

My current book Dominated but not Subdued has several characteristics of people I know. I use google for some research on areas and I do use personal events to add flavour.

Fiona: To craft your works, do you have to travel? Before or during the process?

Sometimes but it depends on what I’m writing. I actually find it hard to write anywhere but at home. So that makes it hard for me.

Fiona: Who designed the covers?

Now Tina Lowen and she is fantastic, can’t sing her praises enough

Fiona: Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

Yep, love is love, no matter what. That we all suffer something but it’s living with it and finding the courage to be more.

Fiona: Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?  Who is your favorite writer, and what is it about their work that really strikes you?

That’s easy Kindle Alexander my first MM author, they write in such away it plucks your heart strings, love it. New author yep that would be Colette Davison, I now beta read for her.

Fiona: Outside of family members, name one entity that supported your commitment to become a published author.

A.E Via

Fiona: Do you see writing as a career?

Yes, I want it to be my only career I can taste it.

Fiona: If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?

No because each book takes you on a different journey and that one is special because it was the one I knew was the best I’ve ever written.

Fiona: Did you learn anything during the writing of your recent book?

Oh yes, I use HAD like its my second name and my new editor is trying to break my habit

Fiona: If your book was made into a film, who would you like to play the lead?

If we are taking the current one, then Christian Bale springs to mind for Carl and Adam would be Dylan Sprayberry

Fiona: Any advice for other writers?

Yes, gain as muck knowledge as you can from other authors, seek out those who are like minded and learn from them.

Fiona: Anything specific you want to tell your readers?

That for every book they read and it gives them a moments pleasure, then I achieved what I’d set out to do and I thank them for being a part of my journey

Fiona: What book are you reading now?

I have a beta read unnamed by Colette and I’m reading the 11th Book in the Finn Factor series by RG Alexander

Fiona: Do you remember the first book you read?

Yep, this is so bad, my mother would get in trouble for this, but my first adult book was Harold Robbins The Carpetbaggers

Fiona: What makes you laugh/cry?

A soppy love story makes me cry. What makes me laugh my grandchildren every time they so the silly things we take for granted

Fiona: Is there one person, past or present, you would love to meet? Why?

Elvis Presley, he was just such an influence in the music business I’d have given anything to sit and chat about what that was like for him.

Fiona: Do you have any hobbies?

Reading has to be top, but yoga, mediation, walking,  and hot holidays where you do nothing

Fiona: What TV shows/films do you enjoy watching?

Crime dramas are my favourite shows. Films anything really I have a huge DVD collection.

Fiona: Favorite foods, colors,  music?

Cake, cake and more cake. Colour has to be anything vibrant. Music, anything but country, love it all.

Fiona: Imagine a future where you no longer write. What would you do?

Read and keep myself immersed in the world I love

Fiona: You only have 24 hours to live how would you spend that time?

With the people that matter most, my family, doing anything that would make you laugh

Fiona: What do you want written on your head stone?

She never gave up.

Fiona: Do you have a blog or website readers can visit for updates, events and special offers?
