Let’s get you introduced to everyone, shall we? Tell us your name. What is your age?
Cynthia Woolf, young enough to get in trouble and old enough to know better
Fiona: Where are you from?
I’m a Colorado native and, though I’ve been lots of different places this is still the best place to live.
Fiona: A little about your self (ie, your education, family life, etc.).
I have a BS in business administration. I’ve been with my husband for 43 years though we will celebrate our 23rd wedding anniversary in June
Fiona: Tell us your latest news.
I just published my 38th book, LYDIA, Brides of the Oregon Trail, Book 2, finished the 39th and am working on the 40th.
Fiona: When and why did you begin writing?
I wrote my first story when I was ten, a romance about a little boy I had a crush on.
Fiona: When did you first consider yourself a writer?
I joined RWA for the first time in 1990, that is when I really started to consider myself and author.
Fiona: What inspired you to write your first book?
The story of how my mom and dad met on a ranch in southwestern Colorado was my inspiration.
Fiona: How did you come up with the title?
My friends helped me.
Fiona: Do you have a specific writing style? Is there anything about your style or genre that you find particularly challenging?
I’m a pantser. I try to plot but after about the thirty pages I’m totally off the track and onto another.
Fiona: How much of the book is realistic and are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?
I think there is a part of me in everybook, but for the most part they are made up stories.
Fiona: To craft your works, do you have to travel? Before or during the process?
I try to travel to the location that each of my stories takes place in.
Fiona: Who designed the covers?
Most of my covers were designed by KSA, but I have a new designer for the latest book. Lori Jackson at Lori Loves Books.
Fiona: Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
Fiona: Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest? Who is your favorite writer, and what is it about their work that really strikes you?
I’ve discovered Jana DeLeon’s Miss Fortune cozy mystery series and I can’t get enough of it.
Fiona: Outside of family members, name one entity that supported your commitment to become a published author.

Fiona: Do you see writing as a career?
Yes. I make my living as a full-time writer.
Fiona: If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?
Fiona: Did you learn anything during the writing of your recent book?
I learn something with every
Fiona: If your book was made into a film, who would you like to play the lead?
Depends on the book.
Fiona: Any advice for other writers?
Keep after it, kee going
Fiona: Anything specific you want to tell your readers?

Fiona: What makes you laugh/cry?
I laugh at scatological humor. Fart jokes kill me. I cry over sad movies.
Fiona: Do you have any hobbies?
Reading, fishing when we can, gardening
Fiona: What TV shows/films do you enjoy watching?
I watch very little TV but when I do it’s NCIS or NCIS New Orleans. I also enjoy The Orville.
Fiona: Favorite foods, colors, music?
German Chocolate Cake, purple and 70’s rock.
Fiona: Imagine a future where you no longer write. What would you do?
I can’t imagine one. I think I would just retire and not do anything.
Fiona: You only have 24 hours to live how would you spend that time?
In my husband’s arms.
Fiona: What do you want written on your head stone?
She really LIVED!
