Let’s get you introduced to everyone, shall we? Tell us your name. What is your age?
Hi my name is Wilnona Marie

As for our age we are both 25 and holding.
Fiona: Where are you from?
We are from Annapolis, Md in the USA. Most people have no idea where that is so we are 30 minutes south of Baltimore, Md and 30 Minutes east of Washington DC.
Fiona: A little about your self (ie, your education, family life, etc.).
Jade: I used to be a Sign Language interpreter. I read about 10 books a week. I have been married for eight years.
Wilnona: I have written seven books before the ten book And I Thought series. I knew I wanted to be a writer at seven years old. I am trilingual in the most lax sense of the word.
Fiona: Tell us your latest news.
Jade: We have our first audiobook And I Thought Divorce was Bad. We are writing a new series called the Miss-Fit Guides. Right now it is only two books long (A Sassy Sway That Leaves Crooked Foot Prints & Cocktails, Soirees & The LBD)On March 16th 2019 we will be host the third annual Inspirational Women in Literature Media and Journalism Awards and Conference.
In June we will be doing the second issue of And I Thought the Literary Magazine.
Wilnona: I just wrote with a bestselling author on a new series called the Ladies Tales Series. It is my first completed clean romance novel. The title is Foreign Coffee. We have season 2 up on Amazon of our Docu-Series TV Show Just Writin Life (that is my favourite thing we have) Also the second issue of : The 25 Hottest Indie Authors, Artist, and Advocates Magazine is coming out March 16th.
Fiona: When and why did you begin writing?
Jade:Wilnona dragged me in kicking an screaming. She asked me to write in the first collaboration book And I Thought Divorce Was Bad. I didn’t want to, but you will do a lot for your BFF. Now I have a writing career I did not expect to have.
Wilnona: I began writing seriously at seven years old because a teacher told me it was some of the best page turning work she had read. She said there was so much action in my stories, but she wished I would learn how to plot a story. Well before that I wanted to be a nuero surgeon. That day I decided to be a writer. My first published work was three years later at 10. My second published work was at seventeen.
Fiona: When did you first consider yourself a writer?
Jade: I am still not sure I consider myself to be a writer. I would say after I wrote my own Short Story “The Famous House Cleaners” I felt more like a writer.
Wilnona: I would say when I got published the second time I considered myself to be a writer. Every time I sit down with an editor I relinquish that thought. There is always so much red ink.
Fiona: What inspired you to write your first book?
Wilnona: Jade, inspired my first successful book. I did not want to write it, but she asked me to write poetry again for her, so I did. I am surprised at the outcome and am happy she made me write the book.
Jade: I have been a contributor to many books, but the Miss-Fit Guides seriesis the first books I can truly say I wrote a lot in. It is a feeling of accomplishment for me.
Fiona: How did you come up with the title?
Jade: For the Miss-Fit Guides, I thought about our crazy lives. One time we missed a cruise ship because a person traveling with us wanted to get her hair perfect, or the hotels we stayed in the fire alarm would go off in the middle of the night. It was interesting and unique experiences. We found that many people had such stories, but we had more than then most people. I thought it would make a fun read.
Wilnona: The first And I Thought Series came about because Jade was being snarky. She named the book And I Thought Divorce was bad, because of the men I dated after I was divorced. The name stuck and so did the series.
Fiona: Do you have a specific writing style? Is there anything about your style or genre that you find particularly challenging?
Wilnona: We write poetry short stories and essays in an entertaining way. I believe our audio book is about two hours long for And I Thought Divorce was Bad. We find interesting ways to name the chapters in our book like in And I Thought Being Grownup was Easy we use my late mother’s biscuit recipe as the chapters, literally it say 2 cups of flour/lay a base/learning independence is both…
Jade: We haven’t found it challenging yet to write these books. What is challenging for us is balancing writing with admin work.
Fiona: How much of the book is realistic and are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?
Wilnona: There is a good mixture of real and fiction. Now, if a lawyer is asking the same question it is all fiction.
Jade: The resume in the front of the Miss-Fit Guides is our real life. The rest is fiction. Cocktails Soirees and the LBD have our real drinks.
Fiona: To craft your works, do you have to travel? Before or during the process?
Wilnona: We travel a lot, not for writing but for book tours, shooting the tv show, and PR. Those Travels seep into our writing.
Jade: I don’t have to travel to make my work exciting, but I think in my opinion that traveling enriches your life because you see other cultures and expand your horizon. So it defintely assists my writing.
Fiona: Who designed the covers?
Jade&Wilnona: We do. Whoever got the idea for the book designs the cover.
Fiona: Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
Jade: Normal is what you say it is.
Wilnona: Each person has a journey they should find theirs.
Fiona: Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest? Who is your favorite writer, and what is it about their work that really strikes you?
Wilnona: Camilla Monk is a new writer that grabs my interest
Jade:I am re-reading Jane austen
Wilnona& Jade: Mickey spillane had a great influence on our literary career.
Fiona: Outside of family members, name one entity that supported your commitment to become a published author.
Wilnona: My editor that stuck with me until she retired. I still go to her house and discuss a new book when I’m writing it.
Jade: Kay, she is always supportive. She edits my first draft sometimes. I haven’t written for as man years as Wilnona so I like to triple check my work.
Fiona: Do you see writing as a career?
Wilnona&Jade : For right now it is what pays the bills.
Fiona: If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?
Jade: Probabaly, there is always room for improvement.
Wilnona: I like mine the way it is.
Fiona: Did you learn anything during the writing of your recent book?
Wilnona: I originally wrote it for a creative writing class, but it didn’t work out. I learned a bunch about editing
Jade: Before this I mostly wrote poetry, so writing with characters, a plot, it was different.
Fiona: If your book was made into a film, who would you like to play the lead?
Wilnona: For And I Thought Divorce was Bad we would have Nico Tortorella play Nick the lead role in the script, America Ferrera play Lead female
Jade: Candice Kristina Patton to play the girl with the broken heel. Rose McIvers to play her counterpart.
Fiona: Any advice for other writers?
Wilnona: It is a long road to writing becoming a full time job. You have to remember that writing is a business like any other career. The art part is the fun part.
Jade: Writing is a career, so as in any career there will parts you don’t want to do aka marketing. If no one knows about your book no one will read it.
Fiona: Anything specific you want to tell your readers?

Fiona: Do you remember the first book you read?
Wilnona: The first one that sticks out in my memory was a simplified anatomy book.
Jade:Black Alley was the first one I read for fun
Fiona: What makes you laugh/cry?
Jade: Good food and a good book
Wilnona: Really my life, when I look back on it.
Fiona: Is there one person, past or present, you would love to meet? Why?
Wilnona: Ava durveny because she would be the perfect director for the movie And I Thought Divorce was Bad
Jade: My future self just to know how my life works out without making a paradox of course.
Fiona: Do you have any hobbies?
Jade: Caring for a house hold is my hobby
Wilnona: I do all my hobbies as work now.Jade likes to bake.
Jade: Right I forgot about that. Wilnona, you do party planning as a hobby
Wilnona: Very true.
Fiona: What TV shows/films do you enjoy watching?
Jade: Pride and Prejudice
Wilnona: I get a kick out of business documentaries
Fiona: Favorite foods, colors, music?
Wilnona:Pizza any way you want to serve, except healthy. Lots of grease please.Favoritecolor is nondescript, I was the kid that never colored in the lines and asked why does the sky have to be blue. So non descript matches me. Music, Country music.
Jade: My mother would say French Fries, I used to make her crave them when she was pregnant everyday at 12:00. Purple although people would say it is black. Any music my taste ranges from Mozart-pop and anything in between.
Fiona: Imagine a future where you no longer write. What would you do?
Wilnona: Cry
Jade: I would run our many other operations
Wilnona: I would join you in doing that. It is a lot to handle.
Fiona: You only have 24 hours to live how would you spend that time?
Jade: With my dad
Wilnona: In Las Vegas or Ibiza
Fiona: What do you want written on your head stone?
Jade: She was loved.
Wilnona: Yeah, I didn’t mean to die (Knowing me it will be an accident)
