I served 23 years in the US Army as a Supply Sergeant. I have a masters degree in Clinical Psychology and a bachelors in Law Enforcement. I have been married 25 years. I have 4 children- Ashley 29, Kayla 27, Wesley 25 and Zackary 20. I have two granddaughters Scarlett and Raven

Fiona: Tell us your latest news?

I just release a Novella called Rules of Engagement that features Daniel Rengering best know as Hurricane Hotcop and currently a Survivor 37 David vs Goliath

Fiona: When and why did you begin writing?

My debut novel Warranted Pleasure released in Dec 2015 and I started writing professionally after I retired from the Army as a form of relaxing

Fiona: When did you first consider yourself a writer?

Hummm. I think just recently actually when I was recognized by RWA as a PAN member

Fiona: What inspired you to write your first book?

It started while I was still active duty and as a Supply Sergeant I was assigned to a unit that had a significant amount of equipment losses and well that was the idea for Warranted Pleasures

Fiona: Do you have a specific writing style?

I write in 1st and 3rd person and I am a definite pantster

Fiona: How did you come up with the title?

Well the main character is a Warrant Officer in the Army so it just fit. Ha ha

Fiona: Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

I do touch on some of my own experiences while serving. But basically I want the reader to enjoy the story

Fiona: How much of the book is realistic and are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?

A lot of my stories are based on my own as well as friends experiences.

 Fiona: What books have most influenced your life most? A mentor?

Gone with the Wind. As for a mentor I don’t really have one single person I think it is the culmination of many authors

Fiona: Are there any new authors that have grasped your interestand who  is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work?

I wish I had more time for reading. I buy books every week to support as many authors as I can. My TBR pile is HUGE.  As for favorite author well I do love Suzan Tisdale, Tara Cromer, Tamara Lush and soooo soooo many more

Fiona: Name one entity that you feel supported you outside of family members.

Well my best friend Stormy and my other Best Friend Ronnie.

Fiona: Do you see writing as a career?

Yes I love writing it keeps me sane for one but two it is just fun.

Fiona: If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?

I would make it longer. But it is a series of novellas and introducing my new Series Ares Team

Fiona: Do you recall how your interest in writing originated?

No not really I have always written something be in a journal or for classes.

Fiona: Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?

Punctuation ha ha

Fiona: Do you have to travel much concerning your book(s)?

No not yet but I am working on a historical time travel novel so who knows.

Fiona: Who designed the covers?

Well my indie books I do the designing but my publisher does the others

Fiona: What was the hardest part of writing your book?

Finding a way to end it to continue it to book 2, 3 and 4

Fiona: Did you learn anything from writing your book and what was it?

That writing is not easy.

Fiona: If any of your books was made into a film who would you like to play the lead.

Fiona: Do you have any advice for other writers?

Just write and get a great editor.

Fiona: Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?

I love you all. It means so much more than they can possibly imagine how important they are to me and how much I appreciate everything they have done for me.

Fiona: What book are you reading now?

It’s a book of Irish folk tales for research.

Fiona: Do you remember the first book you read?

Charlie and the chocolate factory

Fiona: What makes you laugh/cry?

My best friend Ronnie on both accounts lol

Fiona: Is there one person pass or present you would meet and why?

Abraham Lincoln and well I’m from Illinois ha ha but I would want to talk to him and find out his true feelings about the Civil War

Fiona: What do you want written on your head stone and why ?

She gave of herself always do what she could for everyone and why well it’s what I try to do everyday

Fiona: Other than writing do you have any hobbies ?

I’m a huge nerd.

Fiona: What TV shows/films do you enjoy watching?

Sci Fi, vampire, historical shows Game of thrones, Vikings and I love British Television
