Hello and welcome to my blog, Author Interviews. My name is Fiona Mcvie.
Let’s get you introduced to everyone, shall we? Tell us your name. What is your age?
My pen name is B. J. Hardy. My age is getting there, if not already there.
Fiona: Where are you from?
Fiona: A little about your self (ie, your education, family life, etc.).
My education is sparse. My family life is non-extant. I am a dark sheep.
Fiona: Tell us your latest news.
I am in the midst of releasing an 8book seriesabout 8 of the craziest girls you’ll ever meet, and the apocalypse. The first 2 books are currently released as of my writing this, and the third will be released on October 27th, 2018. The remaining 5 books are already written, and only require some final editing before they are ready. This is an absolutely shocking tale which delves into the taboo deeply. I promise many blown minds from the read.
Fiona: When and why did you begin writing?
I wrote my first story in second grade, and self-illustrated it. I have written quite a number of stories, and plan to keep writing as long as I have breath. I began writing because I had some stories that needed telling, and I still find myself in that condition.
Fiona: When did you first consider yourself a writer?
When I self-published my first novella in 2014. I guess that made it official.
Fiona: What inspired you to write your first book?
A dream I had. I write down many of my dreams, and a number of them have become books.
Fiona: How did you come up with the title?
For my first published work, it just came to me. I can’t tell what it is without blowing my cover though.
Fiona: Do you have a specific writing style? Is there anything about your style or genre that you find particularly challenging?
I do not follow the standard methods of story-telling, and as such quite a few people have said that they have never read anything like me before. Not sure if that is good, or bad. Haha.
Fiona: How much of the book is realistic and are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?
My first published book is semi-autobiographical, so much of it is based on people I knew, and myself as well.
Fiona: To craft your works, do you have to travel? Before or during the process?
I always travel in my mind. It has been said that a wise man can know the whole world without leaving his door. Not saying I am a wise man, but I do travel in my mind.
Fiona: Who designed the covers?
I have had a few cover designers, but the astoundingly multi-talented Jodi Fahey is who is doing my covers now. Her work is phenomenal.
Fiona: Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
In my first book, yes. That is why I wrote it as a matter of fact. In it I detail one possible way to reach the stars, and thus prevent the extinction of our race.Or so I thought anyhow. Regardless, it makes some fun fiction.
Fiona: Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest? Who is your favorite writer, and what is it about their work that really strikes you?
Many have caught my attention; Jodi Fahey, J Morgan Woodall, Emery LeeAnn, Zorha Edwards, Lyra Shanti, Megyn Ward, Lucas Black, Zac Hardacre, Reed James, Hilary Storm, Willow Winters, Michael James, Jackson Kane, Cari Robe, Jacob Chance, Logan Chance, Jenifer Lyn, Echo Hart, Van Allen, and many others. My favorite author was Arthur C. Clarke. He sparked my imagination to where it is still burning.
Fiona: Outside of family members, name one entity that supported your commitment to become a published author.
My amazing and astute Manager Amy Steinmetz.
Fiona: Do you see writing as a career?
More of a hobby at the moment, but I am sure working hard towards the career.
Fiona: If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?
Not at all. I am quite happy with the story, and flow.
Fiona: Did you learn anything during the writing of your recent book?
Of course. I always delve into research about the subjects I write about. This is one of the most fun and rewarding aspects of the process for me. I like to learn.
Fiona: If your book was made into a film, who would you like to play the lead?
Well, since it would be a porn, it would have to be a porn star.
Fiona: Any advice for other writers?
Write often, like daily, and don’t marry your work. It can be improved upon.
Fiona: Anything specific you want to tell your readers?
There is more… there is much more coming.
Fiona: What book are you reading now?
Bear by Van Allen. (It’s good!)
Fiona: Do you remember the first book you read?
Besides children’s books, I think Logan’s Run was one of the first. It stands out in my head.
Fiona: What makes you laugh/cry?
Sex, for both. As well as howl, and growl too.
Fiona: Is there one person, past or present, you would love to meet? Why?
Chen Tuan, The Sleeping Immortal. To learn dream control.
Fiona: Do you have any hobbies?
I love rock-hounding, fishing, and backpacking.
Fiona: What TV shows/films do you enjoy watching?
When I used to watch TV I liked Judge Judy. Films I like are harder science fiction. Such as 2001 A Space Odyssey, 2010 The Year We Make Contact, Alien(s), Soylent Green, etc…
Fiona: Favorite foods, colors, music?
I love quality Mexican, Asian, and Italian foods, aquamarine, and classic rock and roll.
Fiona: Imagine a future where you no longer write. What would you do?
Fish, and then fish some more.
Fiona: You only have 24 hours to live how would you spend that time?
Fiona: What do you want written on your head stone?
Here lies a dirty MF.
Fiona: Do you have a blog or website readers can visit for updates, events and special offers?
No blog, and the website is in the works. Right now my FB group is where you can find out about all my upcoming releases, and even some serial fiction that isn’t published anywhere else.
