Hello and welcome to my blog, Author Interviews. My name is Fiona Mcvie.

Let’s get you introduced to everyone, shall we? Tell us your name.

Michelle M. Pillow

Fiona: Where are you from?

Midwest

Fiona: A little about yourself (ie, your education, family life, etc.).

I have a BGS in History and Business, an English minor, and a Certificate in Globalization and Culture Change (Cultural Anthropology).

I’m a NY Times & USA TODAY bestselling romance and cozy mystery author. My first books were historical set romances. I liked the challenge of building a world within specific parameters and creating characters that had to conform to the era in which they lived.

After my first book, a Regency ghost story, published in 2004, the editors contacted me needing authors for their sci-fi line. That first sci-fi, Dragon Lords, a futuristic dragon-shifter series, turned into the Quirlixen World collection with 34 books within seven series installments and it’s still growing. I’ve since written in multiple genres. I’m fortunate to have readers who follow me where my muse leads.

I’ve learned to stay open to new opportunities and have been offered some exciting experiences that way.

Fiona: Tell us your latest news.

I just released the start to a new cozy mystery series.

Better Haunts and Garden Gnomes

(Un)Lucky Valley Book 1

Cozy Mystery Paranormal Romantic Comedy

June 26, 2018

Welcome to Lucky Valley where nothing is quite what it seems.

Lily Goode wasn’t aware she had an inheritance waiting for her in the form of a huge Victorian house in Lucky Valley, Colorado. Life might finally be coming together for her. That is if you don’t count the endless home repairs, dealing with eccentric Aunt Polly who claims they’re both witches, and Nolan Dawson the handsome home inspector who seems to have it out for her, then, sure, life is grand. Oh, and not to mention the strange hallucinations and garden gnomes who are far more than lawn ornaments.

If mysterious accidents don’t do her in, then the rebellious gnomes just might. With the help of Aunt Polly, it’s up to Lily to discover who’s sabotaging her new home and trying to drive the Goodes out of Lucky Valley once and for all.

Fiona: When and why did you begin writing?

I have always loved telling stories with words and pictures. I used to do so as a photographer, and thought that was going to be my future, but writing took off and I’ve never looked back. Now photography has taken a backseat to the words.

Fiona: What inspired you to write Better Haunts and Garden Gnomes?

My first cozy mystery was in The Happily Everlasting Series project with Mandy M. Roth, Kirsten Painter, and Jana DeLeon. We all came up with the shared world, and we each wrote different books within the town. In my first book, Fooled Around and Spelled in Love, Aunt Polly quickly became a fan favorite. She started as the loveable, quirky aunt to Fooled Around and Spelled in Love’s heroine. My new series is called (Un)Lucky Valley where I bring Polly with me to a new town.

So why did I write Better Haunts and Garden Gnomes? For Aunt Polly. Readers love her. I love her. She’s too much fun to stop.

Fiona: To craft your works, do you have to travel? Before or during the process?

Travel is great for research. Often, that’s when the best ideas strike—when you’re not looking for them. Experiencing something makes you better versed in writing about it—not that I can take off into spaceships, but I can tour a ghost town like the one in my newest cozy mystery, or I can interview an expert in paranormal investigations about their techniques, or climb Mayan Temples in Belize, or visit museums.

My husband and I love to travel and meet people. You’re bound to learn something every time you step out into the world.

Fiona: Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?  Who is your favorite writer, and what is it about their work that really strikes you?

I love Mandy M. Roth’s Immortal Ops series. I read the first one 15 years ago when we both were publishing our first books. I love getting sneak peeks from her Ops worlds, including the spin off series. It’s like a behind the scenes look each time she writes one.

There are so many talented people in my genres, it’s hard to write a list that does them all justice—Gena Showalter, Kristen Painter, Jill Monroe, Leigh Duncan, Yasmine Galenorn… I tend to read authors who I’ve found to be awesome people.

Fiona: Outside of family members, name one entity that supported your commitment to become a published author.

Mandy M. Roth and I have been besties almost from the start of our careers. Her support and friendship is invaluable.

Fiona: Do you see writing as a career?

Most definitely.

Fiona: Any advice for other writers?

There is no magic pill, so you just have to do the research and the work. Oh, and I find coffee helps. Lots and lots of coffee.

Write the best book you can. No book, no reason to go through the trouble of everything else. The book is the fun part! I know so many people who want to be authors, but they haven’t written a chapter of anything.

Fiona: Anything specific you want to tell your readers?

I heart you and thank you.

Fiona: What makes you laugh/cry?

Grey’s Anatomy makes me cry. Everyone kept recommending it so I recently binge watched it and I think I cried during every episode. My husband probably thought something was seriously wrong with me. LOL

I love to laugh. My husband and I joke around all the time. Usually it’s the silliest stuff.

Fiona: Imagine a future where you no longer write. What would you do?

I’d fight zombies because I’m assuming it’s the apocalypse if I can’t write.

Fiona: You only have 24 hours to live how would you spend that time?

With family

Fiona: What do you want written on your head stone?

A riddle.

Fiona: Do you have a blog or website readers can visit for updates, events and special offers?

Here is my interview with Emma Jayne Mills

30 Sunday Sep 2018

Hello and welcome to my blog, Author Interviews. My name is Fiona Mcvie.

Let’s get you introduced to everyone, shall we? Tell us your name. What is your age?

My name is Emma Jayne Mills, but I tend to just go by Emma and sometimes EmJay. I’m 42

Fiona: Where are you from?

I grew up in Nottingham, England, but I haven’t lived there in years.

Fiona: A little about your self (ie,  your education, family life, etc.).

As I said, I grew up in England, but I now live in Spain with the hubster, three children (who I refer to as the Dandelions), three dogs, three chickens, two goats and a litter of feral cats who’ve taken up residence at the bottom of my garden.

We spent a lot of years travelling and moving around while the hubster was in the army, but we’ve finally found our forever home here in Spain.

I like my beer cold, my feet bare and my words uncensored!

Fiona: Tell us your latest news.

My latest book related news is that I have a new release coming out on Halloween. A Claddagh in the Clover is the second in my Secrets of Frost Ford series and is the story of Mick O’Rourke. Mick is my Irish Rover, he came to England after being forced to leavehis home in Ireland, carrying a dark secret and his past is about to come back to haunt him.

Fiona: When and why did you begin writing?

I’ve always written here and there, throughout my life, but I never actually managed to find the time to sit down and finish a full novel until we moved to Spain. Before that I was a pre-school teacher.

Writing was always a huge passion of mine and my English teacher at school always told me I should either be a writer or a teacher, I went the teaching route first, but I got there in the end.

Fiona: When did you first consider yourself a writer?

I’m not sure I even do consider myself a writer yet. I write daily and have that much coveted published novel, so I suppose I am a writer. Huh, looks like I was today years old when I first considered myself a writer!

Fiona: What inspired you to write your first book?

When I finally sat down to write Educating Callie, I actually had a completely different book in mind. I’d had a wolf shifter pack making noises in my head for years and it was their story I intended to tell, but I opened the document and Callie began screaming at me that she needed to speak first. Before I knew it Frost Ford was born. Since then, I have ideas on a daily basis and have a library of notebooks to keep them all in. I don’t honestly know where the humans came from, because paranormal is my thing and that’s my go to for reading and writing. Those wolf shifters are coming next year.

Fiona: How did you come up with the title?

My first book, Educating Callie is the story of the final victim of a serial killer who has been nick named “The Teacher” by the media. I went through several names before Educating Callie came to me- Teacher’s Pet and Snow Angel (Callie’s nick name) were two of them. Educating Callie literally just popped into  my head as I was writing one day.

A Claddagh in the Clover is a play on a special moment shared between my characters Mick and Enora when they were younger, before life decided to mess with them.

Fiona: Do you have a specific writing style? Is there anything about your style or genre that you find particularly challenging?

I’m not sure I’m ever going to fit into a single genre, but my Frost Ford stories tend to lean on the darker side of life and my shifters are obviously paranormal.

I like to go with what my characters tell me, so Mick in A Claddagh in the Clover has been difficult to write because he’s the strong, silent type. There have been days when he just didn’t feel like talking to me.

Fiona: How much of the book is realistic and are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?

I wanted to make sure there was some fun and a few lighter scenes in Educating Callie, because it’s such a dark subject- stalking, torture, murder. Some of the light hearted scenes are based on things that have happened to me (Jase and Callie joking around in the car is a regular thing between the hubster and me).

PTSD, which Callie suffers from, is an every day factor in my life so I also drew on that somewhat.

The darker scenes are not drawn on anything I have personally experienced, or anyone I know, thankfully. I do however, have a morbid fascination with serial killers )in particular Jack the Ripper) and what makes them tick. I’ve done a lot of reading and watched many, many documentaries and movies on the subject.

Fiona: To craft your works, do you have to travel? Before or during the process?

I have travelled a lot in my life and I definitely draw on those experiences. I like to write about places I have actually visited, rather than go on research, I find less scope for mistakes that way. Frost Ford is a made up town in the English Countryside, but the small town setting is typical of many places in England.

Fiona: Who designed the covers?

My cover for Educating Callie was designed by BettiBup at The Book Cover Designer.

A Claddagh in the Clover’s cover was designed by Rebeca at Rebeca Covers

Fiona: Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

Although Educating Callie is thriller, there is a deep friendship among Callie and her friends. They count on each other as family and get each other through the darker side of life in a way only true friends can. I suppose the message there would be that family isn’t always blood.

Fiona: Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?  Who is your favorite writer, and what is it about their work that really strikes you?

I love vampires! I mean, if there’s even a hint of a vampire in a book, I will read it. I have two favourites at the moment- L. Ann and L. Gene Brown are co-authors who write a series called A Dark Legacy. Their characters are some of the best vampires I’ve read since Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles. I felt like the vampire genre lost its way a little bit, but these two are definitely putting the blood suckers back up there and are a force to be reckoned with.

Fiona: Outside of family members, name one entity that supported your commitment to become a published author.

Last year I met up with an old friend who I hadn’t seen for more than twenty years. We started as pan pals when we were maybe 14 and met up many times, before losing touch while I was abroad and she was getting married and settling down. When she came back into my life last year, one of the first things she asked me was “Why haven’t you written a book yet?” and I honestly couldn’t give her a good enough answer. She literally hounded me every single day until it was done. I can honestly say, without Kathryn I may not have ever written a single word, let alone published it.

Fiona: Do you see writing as a career?

Yes, but I don’t have to see my name on any best seller lists or compete with any other authors for fame and notoriety, I’m happy that I’ve come as far as I have and I’m enjoying every second of the journey and the people I meet along the way.

For me, my career has always had to be something I enjoy. As a teacher I needed to be happy in my work, when that became more of a chore than a joy, I walked away from teaching. As long as writing makes me happy, I will continue to do it.

Fiona: If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?

I think all authors would go back at some point and change things, particularly in their first novel. I know I’ve come up with a few things since publishing Educating Callie that have made me go “Oh, I should have done that.” but it’s a learning curve. Right now, I’m content in the knowledge that I realised my dream. It’s not a perfect manuscript, but I did it and it has given me the confidence to continue writing.

Fiona: Did you learn anything during the writing of your recent book?

Yes, writing is hard!

Fiona: If your book was made into a film, who would you like to play the lead?

As soon as I began to hear Callie’s voice in my head I envisioned her as Adria Arjona who played Dorothy in the TV series, The Emerald City.

Fiona: Any advice for other writers?

Do it! Just sit down and do it. Let the words flow and get it done. You won’t regret it!
Fiona: Anything specific you want to tell your readers?

Thank you. The support of my readers means more to me than I can say. They have been fantastic and un-wavering in their support, particularly my beta readers and my Dark Hearts who have spurred me on and given me the kick in the butt I needed to keep going. I can honestly say that the majority of my readers have become friends and that’s a really good feeling.

Fiona: What book are you reading now?

I’m not currently reading anything because I’m busy getting A Claddagh in the Clover ready to go out to the ARC readers. Next on my list is Randi Cooley Wilson’s Vassago. I’m a huge fan of all her work, but her Dark Souls series is fantastic.

Fiona: Do you remember the first book you read?

I don’t remember a specific book, just that I have always been a reader. I loved Enid Blyton and Roald Dahl as a child and devoured all their books. I recently began re-reading Roald Dahl with my youngest and I’m loving re-living all those adventures again.

 Fiona: What makes you laugh/cry?

My children are very good at doing both!

Fiona: Is there one person, past or present, you would love to meet? Why?

There is a woman called Brooke Hampton who I follow on Instagram, who has become a real inspiration to me over the last few years. She really knows how to embrace who she is and be true to herself, which is something I’ve struggled with until recently. I would love to meet her one day.

Fiona: Do you have any hobbies?

My hobby was always writing, now I do it all the time I don’t suppose it can be classed as a hobby, can it?

Fiona: What TV shows/films do you enjoy watching?

I’m a comic book nerd. I love the Marvel and DC movies and TV shows, but also anything thriller or horror based. I can’t stand chick flicks! I want action and adventure, not sweet romance and girly giggles.

 Fiona: Favorite foods, colors,  music?

I love Spanish food, there’s something so unpretentious about the way they cook. I can’t bare pretty dishes with no more than a mouthful on the plate, I want real food. I also have a major weakness for ice cream, which is something Callie shares with me.

Colour wise, I’m not a pink kinda girl. I prefer deep purples, reds, greens. I recently painted a wall in my living room black, the hubster was a nervous wreck while I did it, but he admitted to liking it in the end.

My music tastes vary. A lot. I can go from my teenage boyband fetish, New Kids on the Block to Metallica and follow it up with some Motown in a matter of minutes. I pretty much love all music genres.

Fiona: Imagine a future where you no longer write. What would you do?

I’d find a way to write!

Fiona: You only have 24 hours to live how would you spend that time?

Honestly, I really don’t know. I know I would want to spend time with Hubs and the Dandelions, but there would be so many things I could squeeze into that time I’d be conflicted.

Fiona: What do you want written on your head stone?

The lyrics to Bon Jovi’s Sleep When I’m Dead.

Fiona: Do you have a blog or website readers can visit for updates, events and special offers?

I have several places readers can follow me, my website/blog is only one of them.

On the blog I share teasers, excerpts and occasionally I have a blog exclusive free short story on there. You can also read Chapter One of Educating Callie there for FREE!

Here is my interveiw with Krysis

30 Sunday Sep 2018

Hello and welcome to my blog, Author Interviews. My name is Fiona Mcvie.

Let’s get you introduced to everyone, shall we? Tell us your name. What is your age?

Well, my name is Kartik, but the author’s name is Krysis. My age is 20, while Krysis is yet to be born. He sent me the manuscript for The Unconventional Winner via a space-time warp, so technically he is from the future and my job right now is to include him in this interview too.

Fiona: Where are you from?

I am originally from India, but in 2015 I came to USA as an international student. Krysis refuses to give any demographic information as it is important for him to hide his identity in case his rivals decide to search him in the future past.

Fiona: A little about your self (ie,  your education, family life, etc.).

I am the second son to my parents, and my education was in India up till High School, but in the middle of my high school I transferred to USA to get a HS Diploma and Associates Degree from Green River College in Auburn, WA. After that, I transferred to Iowa State University to get a bachelors in Physics. I want to be a researcher one day, but I have a lot of other interests that I am exploring simultaneously. Writing is one of them.

Krysis works at Secret Association for Deep Space Special Tasks. This organization is supposed to be formed during my lifetime, so I am excited.

Fiona: Tell us your latest news.

I just started working on an online start-up idea, so I am excited on this new project. I am also starting a blog of short-stories based in Sprachia. These stories are actually experiences of Krysis when he first arrived on Sprachia as an alien (thus the name, Stories From Sprachia).

Fiona: When and why did you begin writing?

I started writing at a very young age (7) and my first attempt at a novel was when I was in fourth grade. Of course, it was bad, but it still motivates me when I look at it and see my childish dream of becoming a young author. I guess I love to express myself through the characters I create. I find it hard to do that in real life. The stories that Krysis is sending are, of course, true. However, I can still relate myself to a lot of these important people on future Sprachia.

Fiona: When did you first consider yourself a writer?

About 8 years ago, when I was in eighth grade. I was writing another novel that time, and it was more like a mixture of HP, LoTR and Karazan. That’s the first time I actually considered myself a writer. Unfortunately, the copy of that 200-pages worth of work got deleted after a computer crash. I didn’t have access to cloud storage back then.

Fiona: What inspired you to write your first book?

A lot of things, but mainly the desire to write about a larger-than-life character who is going through an intellectual and emotional transition because of his own intelligence.

Fiona: How did you come up with the title?

That was the first thing I came up with. Even before I knew what the story is, or what the name of my characters are, or what the plot is based upon. I knew only one thing before I wrote my first word or thought of the first scene – that my book has to be named The Unconventional Winner. And then boom! Krysis appears out of nowhere and tells me that he has a story for the world to read.

Fiona: Do you have a specific writing style? Is there anything about your style or genre that you find particularly challenging?

My writing style is a bit like Hemingway (not comparing at all… he is a legend). I do not like to describe the surroundings too much. I rather stick to the head of the characters and show the world through their perspectives. Most people are not going to consciously notice what color the wall in their room is, or what shirt their friend is wearing, or that the trees are a bit greener than the day before. People tend to ignore small things because there is a lot going on in their minds. I like to explore that. I like to talk about what the characters are thinking and talking about. I find describing the tone of a dialogue hard because I need exactly the image that is in my mind to also be in the readers’ minds. The writing depends heavily upon the characters’ feelings and mind-set, so to really understand the story, it is important for readers to visualize the expressions.

Fiona: How much of the book is realistic and are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?

Oh, as far is Krysis is concerned, the book is 100% real and these events actually do take place about 270 years from today on the first exoplanet that humans find life on. I cannot say this to him on his face, but I think he is adding a little too much spice into this. I don’t mind that. For me, I can relate my whole personality with bits and pieces of the different characters of the book.

Fiona: To craft your works, do you have to travel? Before or during the process?

Duh, Krysis literally travelled to an exoplanet via a wormhole to tell this story, so yeah I would say he has to travel. I, on the other hand, only need to sit in front of my laptop and wait for him to appear out of the blue to tell me about this.

Fiona: Who designed the covers?

A good friend of mine – Hayato Mori.

Fiona: Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

There are a lot of subtle messages, but the most important one is about all the questions that ordinary people are ignoring right now that will come and haunt them in the future.

Fiona: Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?  Who is your favorite writer, and what is it about their work that really strikes you?

I have two favorite writers whose books/stories I read even before I touched Harry Potter or A Song of Ice and Fire. They are children’s writer V.M. Jones from New Zealand and famous satirist Saki (aka H. H. Munro). I read The Serpents of Arakesh when I was 10 years old, and the Karazan series’ third book still is my favorite. On the other hand, I love Saki’s short stories because of the characteristic wittiness and punchlines they have.

Fiona: Outside of family members, name one entity that supported your commitment to become a published author.

My best friend, Raghav Mandhana, was a big supporter throughout the process. We just celebrated a decade of close friendship, and I am sure we will keep supporting each other on more endeavours.

Fiona: Do you see writing as a career?

Well, it is a career. My main focus is on being a theoretical physicist and an entrepreneur, but I also want to be a writer. I don’t expect to earn a lot of money out of it, so this would be a side career.

Fiona: If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?

I would slow down the pace a bit toward the end, and try to correct the typos and errors that are in the book.

Fiona: Did you learn anything during the writing of your recent book?

A lot. I had to do read a lot about mind-uploading, artificial intelligence, and learn a lot of terms in neuroscience and physics. Since the book involves an international level crime and investigation, I had to learn a lot about forensic procedures and federal investigations as well.

Fiona: If your book was made into a film, who would you like to play the lead?

That’s easy. Christian Bale. In fact, many readers actually think the book has a great script for a movie, and my father actually suggested sending it to a producer to consider making it into a film. It’s a far-fetched dream but one that can be true one day. I think TUW can be a great episode for Black Mirror.

Fiona: Any advice for other writers?

Start writing, and you will get into the flow.

Fiona: Anything specific you want to tell your readers?

Read The Unconventional Winner very carefully, because there are too many things that you do not want to miss. A lot of dialogues and events are subtle hints to a major plot point. The story goes on up until the last word, and also take a look at the back cover (it’s a hint for the next part).

Fiona: What book are you reading now?

Backpack Literature by Kennedy, Introduction to Quantum Mechanics by Griffiths, and Classical Mechanics by John Taylor. Senior year is not an easy.

Fiona: Do you remember the first book you read?

A lot of Goosebumps books by R. L. Stine, but Karazan was my first real novel.

Fiona: What makes you laugh/cry?

Songs by Imagine Dragons.

Fiona: Is there one person, past or present, you would love to meet? Why?

This is a tough question, as there are so many people on this list. However, the top name on it is probably Albert Einstein. I don’t think I need to give you the reason. It’s pretty self-explanatory.

Fiona: Do you have any hobbies?

I like to work on creative projects and see them finish from scratch to a final product. I like creating digital content like images, videos, blogs, websites, etc. Most of my blogs are under secret names so I can’t talk about those. I play video games in free time, or binge-watch YouTube videos. I love playing Cricket, Tennis and any other sports.

Fiona: What TV shows/films do you enjoy watching?

Dark comedy is my current favorite genre, but I love a good suspence/ thriller or sci-fi/ fantasy movie/ TV show. Favorite movie of all time – The Dark Knight Rises. Favorite TV show – Game of Thrones.

Fiona: Favorite foods, colors,  music?

Food – anything Indian.

Color – Navy Blue

Music – Anything by Imagine Dragons (Zero is my current favorite)

Fiona: Imagine a future where you no longer write. What would you do?

I am probably too busy being Prime Minister of India or President of ISRO or the richest person in the world.

Fiona: You only have 24 hours to live how would you spend that time?

I would write the best story there is to write, because at that point nothing else can stamp my name in the history. Plus, people will buy it anyways out of sympathy, so my family might make some fortune.

Fiona: What do you want written on your head stone?

There is no body buried as the person now lives as a robot and donated his biological parts.

Fiona: Do you have a blog or website readers can visit for updates, events and special offers?

Watch out for my upcoming blog called Stories From Srapchia. In the meantime, I am active on Twitter (@Krysis_TUW) and on deviantArt (http://krysis07.deviantart.com).

Here is my interview with M. L. Tompsett

Hello and welcome to my blog, Author Interviews. My name is Fiona Mcvie.

Let’s get you introduced to everyone, shall we? Tell us your name. What is your age?

Hello everyone, My name is Michelle, otherwise known as M. L. Tompsett. As for my age, 47! Even though I feel a lot older.

Fiona: Where are you from?

I am born and raised in Victoria. And I still live in Victoria with my family. If you have any historians out there, the little town I lived in since arriving home from the hospital is known as Bass. Named after one of the British explorers who travelled up the local river in his little whaleboat, landed and decided to name the area after himself – as they did back in the day.

Fiona: A little about your self (i.e.,  your education, family life, etc.).

After completing secondary education, I went on and completed my Diploma in Business Studies. I have undertaken many different online courses in the writing area, including how to create and publish ebooks!
Plus a few other certificate courses over the years, including in the area of Tourism and hospitality. I also have my certificate in Real Estate as an agents rep.
I have been with my partner and husband for over twenty-eight years, we have two adult sons. My background is in computers – in front of the screen.

Over the years I have worked in different aspects in the business industry, from reception, secretarial, accounts, design and layout/advertising, manager’s assistant, sales, parent taxi, basketball coach and football team manager. To business owner and also published indie author.

Fiona: Tell us your latest news.

At the moment I am busy with edits on my new shifter PNR book. And also designing the new covers.
I am excited and cannot wait for the book to be completed, because book two, is trying to escape and spread like wildfire across my laptop.
Also, I have started writing the next book, in my first series, Sex, Lies And Family Secrets – book four. And of course book five is determined to make an appearance!

Fiona: When and why did you begin writing?

I have always loved writing. In the beginning, it was something I used to do with my school best friend and see if we were able to make our old English teacher blush, especial his bald head.

He encouraged our writing, the sad part to the story, by the time I was in year 12 or grade 12, the English teacher I had at the time, commented badly on a piece I had written. Part of it had been written from fact. (What happened at my friend’sfuneral)

Anyway, this English teacher stated, what I had written is completely false and would never happen in real life! My friend had been in the air force and was killed in a road accident. Part of his squad had attended his funeral and also did the gun salute – firing their long arm weapons in the air.

I had been that annoyed and angry, at this teacher, I turned my back on writing.

Fast forward, many years later after the birth of both my boys – I had been listening to a song – Stay, by Shakespear Sister. From that one song, a teenage girl with kick arse talent, formed in my head. Including her relationship with her next-door neighbour and a place far away, another realm of mystical vampires appeared.
Well, as they say, the rest is history.

Plus, I find writing helps, to escape some very dark times I found myself in. And no I am not going to write about my life, even though, I have had plenty of friends comment, I should!

Living it the first time and followed up with the police and courts is far too many times, for anyone to deal with.

Fiona: When did you first consider yourself a writer?

I still don’t know if I do, or I would. I am just a woman who loves creating strange and wonderful worlds full of steamy action and kick arse females.

Fiona: What inspired you to write your first book?

My first book is still sitting on my hard drive, waiting to be reworked into something fitting for the public! Don’t get me wrong, it will be revised and published, it is just a matter of when?
My first published book – The Guy Next Door, was originallylonger. In the end, I split the book into two and created, both The Guy Next Door and Dark Surprises. Again from previously mentioned, the song Stay is what inspired me to create and write this book.

Fiona: How did you come up with the title?

When I was trying to work out a name, it was originally Sex, Lies And Family Secrets, which the book has plenty through its pages. Because I decided to split the first book and create two new books and follow on with others, the original title became the name for the series and the actual book title came from – Drake. As he is the guy next door!

Fiona: Do you have a specific writing style? Is there anything about your style or genre that you find particularly challenging?

Paranormal Fantasy Romance – All I can say is, you require a good imagination. As for I have never met a vampire (that I know of) who would be able to demonstrate and explain how they feed. Also, how do you really know how one can change into an animal or an animal turn into a human?

Then there are the sex scenes, yes… How one can blush and turn scarlet. I can write it, but never try to attempt me to speak it out loud. And again as my husband has asked, ‘where I am getting my information from???’  I keep informing him – it comes down to my imagination!

Fiona: How much of the book is realistic and are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?

How do I answer this question… All I will say is – If I ever write anything based on fact or on a person I know, I will never tell! You will have to read my books and see if anything amongst the words might be based on fact.

Fiona: To craft your works, do you have to travel? Before or during the process?

Apart from travelling to author events and conferences…

The only travel I might encounter might be an unexpected family holiday, taking lots of photos and allow your mind to run wild.
Otherwise, no. If I require anything, I use the internet. If my mind goes blank, I usually start reading someone else’s book and forget what I was initially writing.
Hoping when I remember I am meant to be writing, my characters come back to me with the next scene.

Fiona: Who designed the covers?

Me.
With assistance from my talented sons. They know how to use the software.

Fiona: Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

Even though – I don’t think I have one. But if you look at Alexia and Alex, they are two strong independent women who can look after themselves.
They are not going to be a victim.
The two women love and care for their family and will do anything to protect them.
A woman can stand on her own two feet.

Fiona: Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?  Who is your favorite writer, and what is it about their work that really strikes you?

There are far too many to name.
Since last year, I have met – via the internet and good old social media, two women who stand out from the USA are Nikki Landis, and Angelique S. Anderson, these two fabulous and talented authors have introduced me to different writing styles and genre. Especially Angelique who writes steampunk.
Then there are all the multi-talented Aussie authors.
From poetry to horror – Joanne Van Leerdam
J A Low introduced me to the lifestyle of the rock and roll bands.
K MGolland, to her funny and witty humour and characters, which will bound to steam your windows.

Then there is Keri Arthur, who I had been reading for a very long time and finally got to meet her! – Only to clam up and I never asked her to sign one of her books I had taken with me.

Just to name a few.

Fiona: Outside of family members, name one entity that supported your commitment to become a published author.

I think my close friends are the ones who encouraged me along my journey so far. Once the family realised my writing is more than just a passing fancy or hobby they become interested.
My first run in many years ago, was with the talented and lovely author Alli Sinclair, she suggested I join RWA and gave me a lot of helpful tips. Alli was probably the person who encouraged me to complete my book, she was like my personal mentor.
We usually catch up at the different author events, otherwise via social media.
The last time I had seen her, she had to post a picture of my foot, I had been wearing toeless pantyhose. She had not seen them before and thought they were interesting. So did her followers!

Fiona: Do you see writing as a career?

I do not know if I would see it as a career, but I would like to think it will, one day.

Fiona: If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?

No. I don’t think I would.

Fiona: Did you learn anything during the writing of your recent book?

The struggle to focus on the ones you love. Even when family lie to you when they think they are helping. Covering up with lies does not always help the situation, it just prevents us from moving forward.

Fiona: If your book was made into a film, who would you like to play the lead?

Oh wow. I really do not know. Whoever they are, they need to be strong and athletic. And the lead male actor will require to have an extremely muscled sexy physique, with a panty-dropping smile.

Fiona: Any advice for other writers?

Never give up. Write your manuscript and put it away. Write another one and continue. Eventually take the old one out, go back over it and rewrite it, then go from there.
Oh and don’t rush.

Fiona: Anything specific you want to tell your readers?

Sorry – There will be more!
LOL
I just hope everyone enjoys my books, and travel along the journey with Alexia and Drake.

Fiona: What book are you reading now?

Paranormal of course! But I also have a few others ready, including historical romance.

Fiona: Do you remember the first book you read?

I remember reading at a very early age, my much older sisters book, – The Wishing Chair. I don’t remember much of it, but the cover is still stuck in my head.

 Fiona: What makes you laugh/cry?

An excellent story with plenty of emotion and humour. So you can be laughing one minute and tearing up the next.
Oh, and my son’s medical results, he might be an adult, but he will always be my baby. I have been with him, at every doctor, specialist and hospital visit this year. It has been a long journey. I had to give him injections this year, twice daily, I was crying on the inside, knowing I am hurting my son, but it had to be done. Fingers crossed we might be starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Fiona: Is there one person, past or present, you would love to meet? Why?

Oh, my. Now you got me. I really do not know? I would love to see my brother again and find out what he has managed to get up to, since his death. Who has met and the adventures he has taken.
Otherwise – To do with family, probably past family members from back in the 1900’s, 1800’s and 1700’s and ask, “what were they thinking?”

If I were to meet a famous actor or singer, I would most likely clam up and not speak and stand there like an idiot.

At least when I was a kid, one of my best friends has a much older sister who was  T.V soap royalty, I got to see her a couple times a year with my friend. Kids handle meeting new people than adults, no foot in mouth syndrome.

Fiona: Do you have any hobbies?

I love reading.

Listening to my old music collection – nothing like rehashing the 80’ and 90’s music and maybe a few 70’s songs to get you in the mood for writing.

I used to enjoy fishing, now I am writing when the boys go out for a day out on the water.

And writing of course.

Fiona: What TV shows/films do you enjoy watching?

Sci-fi
TV – Bitten, Dark Matter, Flash, Arrow, Game of Thrones, Outlander, Lost Girl, Moonlight, Lucifer, StarGate, Shadow Hunters just to name a few.

Movies – Underworld, Marvel movies, romance, comedy.

Fiona: Favorite foods, colors,  music?

Colours change, but I still wear mainly black.

Music, I prefer the older stuff.

Foods – as long it is not hot and spicy and also seafood, I tend to eat it.

Fiona: Imagine a future where you no longer write. What would you do?

If I was not able to write or I did not write, I would be creating websites and running an office somewhere.

Fiona: You only have 24 hours to live how would you spend that time?

With my family, somewhere warm and safe. – Beach paradise with plenty of food, drinks, and entertainment, – and for me, a few sexy-looking males to admire!

Fiona: What do you want written on your head stone?

With one of my sisters,we had discussed this many years ago, after the death of our brother.
We came up with some funny lines.
I am no longer sure, what I would like to have written?

“I was here, and now I am there, life on the other side is but an adventure.”

Fiona: Do you have a blog or website readers can visit for updates, events and special offers?

Here is my interview with Morgan Sylvia

Hello and welcome to my blog, Author Interviews. My name is Fiona Mcvie.

Hi there! Thank you for having me.

Let’s get you introduced to everyone, shall we? Tell us your name. What is your age?

My name is Morgan Sylvia. I don’t want to give my exact age, but let’s just say I grew up in the era of rotary phones, disco, and the original Muppet Show.

Fiona: Where are you from?

I am a Mainer, though I did spend a few decades in Tampa, Florida.

Fiona: A little about your self (ie,  your education, family life, etc.).

I’m a bookworm, a lifelong metalhead, and a bit of a ditz. I went to school for recording engineering, but never ended up working in that industry. I spent about 14 years at The Tampa Tribune before it folded, including a few years doing obituaries. I watched the demise of the newspaper industry from the inside, which was sad. About 5 years ago, I realized that I was really frustrated and burned out on my job. So I quit, moved back to Maine, and took the plunge into freelance writing. Best decision I ever made. I am currently a full-time copywriter, so I spend most of my time writing, drinking coffee, and removing my cat from my computer keyboard.

Fiona: Tell us your latest news.

I just released my first fantasy novel, Dawn. Dawn is the first book of The Aris Trilogy, and has been released through Crossroad Press’ Mystique imprint. To give the elevator pitch description, I’d say it is sort of Druids meets Spartans meet The Tudors, but set on a post-technological world, with some paranormal elements. I’m also going to be releasing an ocean-themed poetry collection, As The Seas Turn Red, soon.

Fiona: When and why did you begin writing?

I started very young. I was already writing for fun in grade school. I blame my mother, who was a librarian, and the fact that I was an only child growing up in a fairly remote area where you got more or less snowed in for a good chunk of the year. Whenever I complained that I was bored , I was told to read. You see how that worked out.

Fiona: When did you first consider yourself a writer?

I’m honestly not sure. I think in a way I sort of always have. However, I didn’t feel like I could really call myself a writer until my first sale, which was a novella called The Seven. That story actually never saw print, as that press unfortunately closed down, but I got paid for it and remember feeling that I could do this.

Fiona: What inspired you to write your first book?

My books aren’t being published in the order I wrote them. The first book I published, a horror poetry collection called Whispers From The Apocalypse, was the third or fourth I had written. But, to go back to the first one I wrote, that is a fantasy epic series that I am still tweaking 30 years later, it was a combination of songs, videos, movies, art, and other things that inspired me. It’s sort of my LOTR or GOT or WOT, I guess. The first novel I published was Abode. I wanted to do something that was straight up horror, and I knew that if I was to scare readers, I had to scare myself. So I dug into the things I found scary.

Fiona: How did you come up with the title?

I’m going to answer that for Dawn. I actually had been working on this long, epic series, the one I just mentioned, and was burning out on it and wanted to do something new. I wrote a chapter off the top of my head, complete brainstorming, and then had to figure out how to get there. That chapter ended up being one of the final chapters in what is now a trilogy. Turns out, it took a lot of backstory to get there.

Fiona: Do you have a specific writing style? Is there anything about your style or genre that you find particularly challenging?

I’m often told that I have a very poetic, lyrical style. Prose, rhythm, flow, and imagery are very important to me.

Fiona: How much of the book is realistic and are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?

For Dawn?Very little. My horror novel, Abode, however, pulled directly from some things I experienced.

Fiona: To craft your works, do you have to travel? Before or during the process?

I don’t have to, but it would be nice. I want to in the future. Currently, I just travel through movies, shows, and other books, I guess.

Fiona: Who designed the covers?

Dawn’s cover was designed in-house by David Dodd. Abode’s cover was designed byKealan Patrick Burke. As The Seas Turn Red’s cover was done by Joseph Schmalke. All three did amazing jobs in very different styles.

Fiona: Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

I think it’s whatever any individual wants to glean from it. Art should be interpreted on an individual level, IMHO.

Fiona: Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?  Who is your favorite writer, and what is it about their work that really strikes you?

The newest writer I would mention is Doungjai Gam Bepko. I just read her collection, Glass Slipper Dreams, Shattered, and loved it.

I don’t have a single favorite writer, but the list would include Tanith Lee, Robert McCammon, Clive Barker, Charles de Lint, Alice Hoffman, Anne Rice, Robert Howard, Michael Moorcock, Stephen King, Nancy Springer, Gene Wolfe, Brian Lumley, and S.E. Hinton. Those are my re-reads, the ones that influenced me the most and whose books I revisit regularly. George Martin is amazing, of course. I’malso enjoying Patrick Rothfuss. Other authors I would note are Peter Dudar, Paul Tremblay, Ed Kurtz, Christine Morgan, James Newman, the Sisters of Slaughter, Tony Tremblay, David Price, and John McIlveen.

Fiona: Outside of family members, name one entity that supported your commitment to become a published author.

My writers’ group, Tuesday Mayhem Society. The other members are Peter Dudar, April Hawks, and Emma Jane Shaw Gibbon. They’re all incredibly supportive.

Fiona: Do you see writing as a career?

At this point, yes. I write for a living, though my ‘day job’ is copywriting. I’d love to be able to support myself off my fiction one day, so that is my goal. I’m all in at this point, I guess.

Fiona: If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?

I’ll find out when I edit Books 2 and 3. I’m sure I’ll think of something I should have done differently in the first book.

Fiona: Did you learn anything during the writing of your recent book?

Just put the work in. It helps for me to have a deadline, even if it’s just a loose one, as that will keep me in the chair longer. I try to set high standards for myself. Also, reading backwards is very helpful.

Fiona: If your book was made into a film, who would you like to play the lead?

Whatever unknown fits the part the best.

Fiona: Any advice for other writers?

Feed your head.  Read every day is common advice, but it’s also important to watch movies, listen to music, watch videos, look at art, and just explore the world. You have to put things into your brain before you can expect your brain to produce anything.

Fiona: Anything specific you want to tell your readers?

1)Thank you.

2) Dawn is very, very different from Abode. Not just genre-wise, but in the type of story it is.

Fiona: What book are you reading now?

The Bone Clocks by David Mitchell.

Fiona: Do you remember the first book you read?

Aside from children’s books?Hm. I remember devouringthe Nancy Drew and Black Stallions series in second grade, so I guess it would be those. Or maybe, Alice In Wonderland? I read voraciously from a very young age, so it’s hard to even say.

 Fiona: What makes you laugh/cry?

I like goofy humor, especially if it’s sarcastic and snarky and sometimes kinda raunchy. Talladega Nights kills me every time I see it.Same with Airheads. I love that movie. I have to admit, Trailer Park Boys also makes me giggle. Silly memes also crack me up. And cats. Cats are just naturally funny.

What makes me cry …Apathy.Cruelty.Lonely people.Child abuse.Senior Abuse. The destruction of our environment tears me up: scenes like the recent devastation in Florida, with all the dead sea life. The whole DAPL thing just hurt my heart, with both the disrespect to First Nation tribes and the land itself.Animal abuse.War stories.

I don’t understand hatred, or how people can be so cruel to one another, or just go around hating this group or that group… It just makes me all really sad.

From an entertainment level, some movies just get me. The very end of Titanic, where old Rose drops the jewel into the ocean. The end of The Last Unicorn is another. Braveheart.I tear up every time at that FREEEDOMpart. Anything sentimental gets me sniffling.

Fiona: Is there one person, past or present, you would love to meet? Why?

Jim Morrison. I find him fascinating. Also, Joseph Campbell.

Fiona: Do you have any hobbies?

Aside from reading and writing, I like going to concerts. There are a lot of things I want to delve into but don’t have time for: pyrography, gardening, permaculture, painting, cheesemaking. My boyfriend and I also like yard sale-ing and just exploring Maine’s nooks and crannies.

Fiona: What TV shows/films do you enjoy watching?

Most recently, I’ve gotten into The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel on Amazon. Other favorite shows include Falling Waters, The Americans, Beyond The Walls, Rain, The Dark, Glitch, OINTB, Stranger Things, Black Mirror, I’m Dying Up Here, Shameless, Game of Thrones, Rome, Britannia, Homeland, and The Handmaid’s Tale. I’ll add Walking Dead, though recently I have begun to prefer Fear The Walking Dead. For movies, recent favorites include Mandy, The Endless, As Above So Below, It Follows, and Annihilation. I’m really looking forward to the Suspiria remake as well.

 Fiona: Favorite foods, colors,  music?

Food: I love seafood in all forms, especially shellfish. Also, Italian.I’m doing the keto diet now, so many of my former favorites, like shrimp alfredo and pizza, are off-limits in their original forms. Instead,I’m doing things like zoodles instead. So, I guess now it would be a zoodle seafood alfredo. My mom’s crepes would also make the list.

Colors: vary depending on what they’re for. For clothes, black, grey, olive, and brown. For décor, black, purple, maroon, grey.

Music: I’m a metalhead at heart, but I’m also quite eclectic. A list of my favorite bands would include Swallow The Sun, Dissection, Emperor, Black Sabbath, Alice in Chains, Dead Can Dance, Moon and the Nightspirit, Kyuss, Conan, Tori Amos, Behemoth, Allagoch, Wardruna, Enslaved, Benediction, Electric Wizard, Duran Duran, Acid Bath, Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats, Iron Maiden, Slayer,Dio,WASP, Anthrax, Madrugada, Death, Opeth, At The Gates, Dismember, Satyricon,Halou, Orchid, Carcass, Bathory, King Diamond, Cannibal Corpse,Testament, Suicidal Tendencies, Mastodon, Paradise Lost, Brutality, White Stripes, Skeletonwitch, Disincarnate, Slayer, and too many more to list. I also love classic rock, like Aerosmith, The Doors, Pink Floyd, BOC,Zeppelin, and CCR.I’ll stop there.

Fiona: Imagine a future where you no longer write. What would you do?

I guess I’d be some sort of desk jockey, possibly an administrative assistant. I’d also be very sad.

Fiona: You only have 24 hours to live how would you spend that time?

Eat some seafood alfredo, spend the time with my boyfriend, friends, and family, and cuddle my cats. I may go for a walk on my favorite trail. If teleportation was available, I’d visit Stonehenge.

Fiona: What do you want written on your head stone?

Nothing. I want to be planted under a tree. Or, possibly, have a Viking funeral.

Fiona: Do you have a blog or website readers can visit for updates, events and special offers?

Here is my interview with Carly Davis

Hello and welcome to my blog, Author Interviews. My name is Fiona Mcvie.

Let’s get you introduced to everyone, shall we? Tell us your name. What is your age?

My name is Carla Dailey, but I write under the pen name of Carly Davis. I am forty years old.

Fiona: Where are you from?

Oklahoma.

Fiona: A little about your self (ie,  your education, family life, etc.).

I grew up in the city, but now live in the country. I have a twelve year old son and a husband I love. I have cats and one dog who are also my babies. When I was growing up, I was a preacher’s daughter and was sheltered. I graduated from Howe High School in 1998 and went on to go to college to study Business Administration.

Fiona: Tell us your latest news.

I just recently finished my fourth book in my Family Secrets Series and it’s set to release on October 26th.

Fiona: When and why did you begin writing?

I started writing poetry back in 2007 and in 2012 began writing dark romance on Wattpad. Later, I started self-publishing on Amazon. I started writing because I originally had to write a poem when my grandmother lost the battle against cancer. Then, I began to write little snippets of several characters that later became to be full length novels.

Fiona: When did you first consider yourself a writer?

January 2018, when I published Giovanni on Amazon.

Fiona: What inspired you to write your first book?

I had several authors on Facebook asking me why I didn’t publish on Amazon. This is what inspired me to publish.

Fiona: How did you come up with the title?

I came up with the title Giovanni (Family Secrets: Book One) because that’s my characters first name. I picked the series name because that is what my books are about. Family keeping secrets from each other.

Fiona: Do you have a specific writing style? Is there anything about your style or genre that you find particularly challenging?

Yes, I write first person POV from each main characters viewpoint. I find it more challenging to write in the woman’s viewpoint, but have no problem writing in the male character’s POV.

Fiona: How much of the book is realistic and are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?

Everything I write is purely fictional. Although, some of the scenes is from real life experiences, but have added content.

Fiona: To craft your works, do you have to travel? Before or during the process?

I don’t have to travel to craft my works. Everything I do is done from home.

Fiona: Who designed the covers?

I design my own covers.

Fiona: Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

Everyone is capable of love if they just let it happen.

Fiona: Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?  Who is your favorite writer, and what is it about their work that really strikes you?

Oh wow, I have so many new author’s that have caught my attention, but I do have a few at the top of my head. Zak Hardacre, Ray Sostre, Lylah James, Drew Lennox is just a few I’ve kept up with. My favorite author has to be Monica Robinson because she is an amazing author. She can pull you in the book with just one page and keeps you on the edge of your seat. She is the Queen of Angst when it comes to romance books with an alpha male.

Fiona: Outside of family members, name one entity that supported your commitment to become a published author.

Zak Hardacre.

Fiona: Do you see writing as a career?

Yes, I do.

Fiona: If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?

No, I would keep it exactly how I wrote it. I wouldn’t change a thing.

Fiona: Did you learn anything during the writing of your recent book?

I learned love has no boundaries even if it’s betraying someone to be with the one you love.

Fiona: If your book was made into a film, who would you like to play the lead?

Daniel Gillies since he is the muse for my main male character.

Fiona: Any advice for other writers?

Never be afraid to self-publish and don’t let some readers discourage you from doing so.

Fiona: Anything specific you want to tell your readers?

On October 26th, I’ll be releasing my fourth book in my series. Also, I’m going to be taking a break from my series to write a dark erotic vampire short story.

Fiona: What book are you reading now?

I’m not currently reading anything, but recently read Lost Boy by Monica Robinson. It was an amazing read.

Fiona: Do you remember the first book you read?

 Charlotte’s Web.

 Fiona: What makes you laugh/cry?

My cats make me laugh and when I read an emotional book it makes me cry.

Fiona: Is there one person, past or present, you would love to meet? Why?

I would love to meet Monica Robinson, so she could sign my copy of Road to Nowhere and get a picture with her.

Fiona: Do you have any hobbies?

 My hobbies include:

Scrapbooking

Dancing

Singing

Going camping/fishing

Fiona: What TV shows/films do you enjoy watching?

I love watching Peaky Blinders, The Ranch, and Orange is the New Black.

 Fiona: Favorite foods, colors,  music?

I love pizza, chinese food, and chocolate, but who doesn’t.

My favoritecolor is red.

As for music, I love a variety of music.

Fiona: Imagine a future where you no longer write. What would you do?

I wouldn’t know what to do with myself if I no longer wrote. I would have more time to scrapbook.

Fiona: You only have 24 hours to live how would you spend that time?

I would spend every second with my family.

Fiona: What do you want written on your head stone?

Lilies don’t last forever, but angels do.

Fiona: Do you have a blog or website readers can visit for updates, events and special offers?

Hello and welcome to my blog, Author Interviews. My name is Fiona Mcvie.

Let’s get you introduced to everyone, shall we? Tell us your name. What is your age?

PA Vachon is my author name and I am in my 40’s (43 to be exact, lol)

Fiona: Where are you from?

I was born in Northern California, lived in almost every state (lower 48 anyway) and now I call the rainy Pacific Northwest home

Fiona: A little about your self (ie,  your education, family life, etc.).

I finished high school in the top 5%, went to college in my 30’s (didn’t finish ~ full time mom and day job made it hard), I have three grown children and my husband and I have been together for 26 almost 27 years…he’s my other half

Fiona: Tell us your latest news.

Latest news, well I just released my sixth PNR book and have three more coming out before the end of the year. I also write contemporary romance under a second pen name (that I try not to mention as to keep separate from my PNR works)

Fiona: When and why did you begin writing?

I have been writing since grade school. Inventing stories and putting them on paper for more years than I can count. My dream is to be a full time author.

Fiona: When did you first consider yourself a writer?

I have always thought of myself as a writer, but it wasn’t until I published my first book that I considered myself an Author.

Fiona: What inspired you to write your first book?

I had started the first book as a way to make the PNR stories I was reading better…I noticed the market was drowning in stuffed books…and I was reading the same stories over and over…then I wrote Mated to the Grizzly and released it…I knew this was what I wanted to do with the rest of my life.

Fiona: How did you come up with the title?

I knew I wanted the word Grizzly in the title and I wanted readers to connect with the mated aspect of the book…hence the title Mated to the Grizzly

Fiona: Do you have a specific writing style? Is there anything about your style or genre that you find particularly challenging?

Yes, its called being a pantser…I write what flows from my brain to my fingers…which is a challenge every time I sit at my computer…you never know what’s gonna come out onto the page.

Fiona: How much of the book is realistic and are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?

Parts of all of my books are based on things that have happened in my life (either to me, by me or a friends life) for example in When I See you Smile Rebecca talks about throwing a coffee cup at her ex boyfriend, this happened in my real life but I actually threw it at my husband when he pissed me off…

Fiona: To craft your works, do you have to travel? Before or during the process?

I do a lot of online research..I don’t travel much. I have several friends that live in the areas I write about and I pick their brains.

Fiona: Who designed the covers?

Aren’t my covers amazing? They have all been done by Brandon Vance at Brandon Vance Graphic Designer

Brandon’s Facebook link

Fiona: Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

I hope that I convey that love is the greatest emotion and that happily everafters are possible…Trevor in When I See you Smile is based off of my hubby…that character is my most favorite, although all of my lead male characters have something of my hubby in them..

Fiona: Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?  Who is your favorite writer, and what is it about their work that really strikes you?

DD Moss is going to blow your mind…I am currently BETA reading for her and her first book is going to be so good!!!

My favorite writer right now (it changes with my mood) is Caitlyn O’leary. Her Seal and Fate Harbor books are simply amazing!!! Her stories are just so ‘real’ and you can ‘feel’ every emotion and word.

Fiona: Outside of family members, name one entity that supported your commitment to become a published author.

My very best friend, Angel…she has been my greatest cheerleader and is always down to read whatever I write and give me her honest opinion, she doesn’t pull her punches which I really appreciate.

Fiona: Do you see writing as a career?

I do, my dream is to go full time within five years.

Fiona: If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?

No I wouldn’t change any of the book, well maybe make it a little longer…that is one of the things readers are always telling me. They want more story…lol

Fiona: Did you learn anything during the writing of your recent book?

I learned that anything is possible..I had a small block happen and couldn’t write for a few weeks…I was on a deadline and I added almost 19,000 words to the book in one weekend…and so far no one has said it felt rushed (fingers crossed that they don’t now…lol)

Fiona: If your book was made into a film, who would you like to play the lead?

I would really like for Matt Bomer or Liam Hemsworth to play Gus and for Emma Watson to play Memphis…I think she would be brilliant with an American accent…

Fiona: Any advice for other writers?

Don’t let anyone extinguish your dream. There are haters and detractors out there…don’t let them win…be you

Fiona: Anything specific you want to tell your readers?

Yes, so much. I love and appreciate all of my readers. Their support and love is amazing and so uplifting when I am having a bad day….they are why I write.

Fiona: What book are you reading now?

I just recently finished Vynn by Grace Brennan (I’ve followed her books since she started writing over a year and half ago ~ she does some awesome shifter books) and I read Sol by Leslie McAdam…she’s also so amazing at what she does…

Fiona: Do you remember the first book you read?

I don’t actually. I’ve been reading since I was 3…and that was a lot of years ago lmao

Fiona: What makes you laugh/cry?

Really well written emotional books, some music and movies.

Fiona: Is there one person, past or present, you would love to meet? Why?

I have always wanted to meet Adele, I love her music and she just seems like my kind of people.

Fiona: Do you have any hobbies?

I read. I love to watch movies and I love horses (although I haven’t ridden in a few years as we live in the city now and not in the country anymore).

Fiona: What TV shows/films do you enjoy watching?

I love reality TV, I am addicted…but I also love dramas too…

Fiona: Favorite foods, colors,  music?

Coffee (I know it’s not food but it is my favorite thing that I put in my mouth….well second favorite thing, lol) Pinks and Purples are my favorite colors and I love almost all music from every era

Fiona: Imagine a future where you no longer write. What would you do?

I’ll be dead, because I won’t ever stop writing

Fiona: You only have 24 hours to live how would you spend that time?

Spend as much time as possible with my family living life to the fullest for that last 24 hours.

Fiona: What do you want written on your head stone?

I don’t know actually…that is an awesome question…I am not even sure if I will be buried. I might be cremated…who knows

Fiona: Do you have a blog or website readers can visit for updates, events and special offers?

Here is my interview with S Louise

Hello and welcome to my blog, Author Interviews. My name is Fiona Mcvie.

Let’s get you introduced to everyone, shall we? Tell us your name. What is your age?

I write under the pen name S Louise and my first name is Stephanie. I have just recently changed my pen name and previously used Jennifer Louise. My age… well let’s just say that… “I’ve reached that age where my brain goes from you probably shouldn’t say that to what the hell let’s see what happens!” (I found that quote online somewhere)

Fiona: Where are you from?

I am born and raised in Florida and have never lived anywhere else. I currently reside less than 10 minutes from the beach, and often times see both the sunrise and sunset… all in the same day.

Fiona: A little about yourself (ie, your education, family life, etc.).

I have an AS degree in business administration, doing my time in the corporate world before making the switch to the education field… but I’m not a teacher.

I’m married with two children who are growing up way to fast, and are in high school and middle school, respectively. For the better part of the last sixteen years, I have devoted my entire life for my children’s needs and wants. When I started writing last year, I began this venture as something just for myself, while my family patiently understands my focus shift and dedication to my new craft.

Fiona: Tell us your latest news.

A few months ago, I submitted a writing prompt, entering a “contest” of sorts. The concept is loosely based on a co-written story, Wicked Little Words. I was chosen to co-author a story with none other than the widely talented BT Urruela! We planto start collaborating sometime in October.

Fiona: When and why did you begin writing?

I started writing in early 2017 after realizing I had the passion to write but not finding the words to put to paper. After being such an avid romance reader for several years, I found the right words and my first story flowed easily through my fingers. I had admired so many romance writers that by just reading their beautiful words, inspired me to start creating my own.

Fiona: When did you first consider yourself a writer?

I don’t think that will ever be my first thought… but it became real for me when I received my first five-star review. But don’t get me wrong, I’m still a work in progress and take nothing for granted. I know I haven’t reached my full potential yet, and until then, I will absorb all of the feedback that is given to me, good or bad.

Fiona: What inspired you to write your first book?

Reading so many talented authors and feeling the love for their stories and characters pour onto the pages. After diving head first into the writing world,I continued reading and seeing how the author evolved with each published book. I knew I wanted to be a part of it. The writing community is so supportive and such a strong network of amazing people.

Fiona: How did you come up with the title?

Since I only have one live book on Amazon at the moment, Club Manhattan, there is a bit of a story behind this book and title. I originally wrote two stories for Kindle Worlds under the Club Privé world. Having read so many of M S Parker’s phenomenal stories, I knew instantly that I wanted to write something in this world. When Amazon decided to take down the KW platform, I was graciously given permission by MS Parker to republish my story, changing the name of the title and characters. So…  Club Manhattan was originally two stories, Club Privé: Restoring and Club Privé: Rebuilding.

Fiona: Do you have a specific writing style? Is there anything about your style or genre that you find particularly challenging?

I don’t have a specific writing style, but I have recently tried adding elements of myself into the stories that I am working on, or fantasies that I have never acted on. I would say that the challenging part is trying to write a story that is unique and different. While it may not happen every time, I strive to put something special into what I write.

Fiona: How much of the book is realistic and are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?

While I put some of my own emotions into the story, Club Manhattanwas purely a work of fiction.

Fiona: To craft your works, do you have to travel? Before or during the process?

I don’t travel but do a fair amount of research online, especially if I’m writing about an area I’ve never been in.

Fiona: Who designed the covers?

The cover for Club Manhattan was designed by Maria Spada. https://www.facebook.com/mariaspada.design/

I knew the instant I found it online, that even though a premade, it was made for my story.

Fiona: Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

The message in Club Manhattan is that despite adversity and challenges there is a learning experience underneath it all. Keeping quiet doesn’t make a person weak, it means they are silently in control. Knowing you can go through so much misfortuneyet come out the other side stronger and more independent. Finding the love that you were meant to be with, is what all great love stories are written about.

Fiona: Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?  Who is your favorite writer, and what is it about their work that really strikes you?

While there may not be any new authors, Danielle Steel started me on the path of my love for romance novels. I took a hiatus on reading to have a family and “do life” and within the last few years, picked it up again. Melissa Foster was the one who I devoured until I was counting the minutes until her next release. Then I joined KU. That opened so many more authors to gobble up all their love story goodness. MS Parker, Monica Robinson, Alexa Riley, KB Winters, Willow Winters… just to name a few.  It is also what prompted me to start researching the self-publishing aspect.

Each of these authors have a writing style that I admire. From the angst queen herself, M Robinson, to the erotic, over-the-top, insta-love of Alexa Riley, I am in awe of their words and how they can put such amazing stories together.

Fiona: Outside of family members, name one entity that supported your commitment to become a published author.

I guess the entity that supported my commitment to writing was Facebook, believe it or not. I was able to join support groups, become “friends” with so many amazing authors and those in the community and industry that I felt a connection without ever having met any of them in person.

Fiona: Do you see writing as a career?

I am not sure if writing will take off for me, enough to be a full-time career. I’m still a newbie and absorbing as much as I can about the industry. I’m in this business to be a part of an amazing group of peers and mentors and hopefully one day have the ability to give my sage advice to another author just starting out.

Fiona: If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?

As much as I agonize over if Club Manhattan is liked and well received, at a certain point you just accept that all writing is a work in progress and you can’t get better at it unless you keep trying. (I did have another book published that I pulled from Amazon because, quite frankly it was crap and I’m working on making it publish worthy again.)

Fiona: Did you learn anything during the writing of your recent book?

I learned somethings about myself while writing Club Manhattan and that I put more of my own emotions into it than I thought. While it was a complete work of fiction, I tried to channel the characters as to what they did and felt to make it as true-to-life as possible.

Fiona: If your book was made into a film, who would you like to play the lead?

Writing stories always put visions of certain people in your head, of who you are creating the characters of your story after. Oddly enough, the models on my book cover were ultimately the vision I had when writing the characters in Club Manhattan. But, if I had to choose an actress to play the fierce and sassy attorney, Chloe Weston, it would be Hayden Panettiere. As for the male lead, Aidan Montgomery, I would choose Ian Somerhalder, as a ruggedly handsome and daringly dominant architect and urban developer.

Fiona: Any advice for other writers?

Being such a newbie and needing my own advice on the daily, the only thing I have to offer is… don’t give up even though you want to. Keep at it and don’t let anyone tell you that you CAN’T do it!

Fiona: Anything specific you want to tell your readers?

For readers, my heartfelt thanks for the kind reviews that you have posted online. I wish there were more of them… but I am only human and crave the feedback, good, bad or indifferent.  I love getting posts on my Facebook page as well. Any interaction is a good interaction and I love to hear what they are thinking and feeling. I’m hoping to get the chance to meet some of them in person, if I ever get the opportunity to do an author event.

Fiona: What book are you reading now?

I just finished “Dirty Headlines” by LJ Shen. All I can say is WOW! Buckle up for a rollercoaster of emotions kind of read!

Fiona: Do you remember the first book you read?

If I am going all the way back to childhood, I would say I was a huge fan of Dr Seuss. In my teen years, it was anything Judy Blume, Nancy Drew, or Hardy Boys. (And I just gave away my age!) As an adult, Danielle Steel was my first foray into romance, and I devoured quite a few of her books.

Fiona: What makes you laugh/cry?

When it comes to reading a story… what gets me every time is when a book character dies. The emotions written behind the death scenes are profoundly powerful and angst ridden. I am usually shocked when this happens too, so that adds an extra element to the story. In life, I cry when I am frustrated, disappointed or angry.

I think I spend a fair amount of time trying to make others laugh, and I love seeing their reaction to my dry witted humor. Maybe it’s a deflection mechanism or, like my writing, I like to see or feel someone’s emotions from something I have said or written.

Fiona: Is there one person, past or present, you would love to meet? Why?

Hmm… this is a tough question. One that I’ve never really thought about. So, I’m going to say that I don’t have that ONE person that I would like to meet. But I would be ancomforting to talk to loved ones who have passed, if for no other reason than to say how important they were in my life and that I think about them often.

Fiona: Do you have any hobbies?

Reading and writing have become my hobby. With working a stressful job and spending time with my family, I don’t have any more bandwidth for anything else.

Fiona: What TV shows/films do you enjoy watching?

I don’t really watch TV anymore, given the fact that I am always reading or writing something, in my spare time. But I record a few show and binge watch them in between when I’m not reading. I love Grey’s Anatomy, Quantico, and have watched FSOG so many times, I could recite the lines of the first movie! (ok so that’s a little embarrassing, but it’s true!)

Of course, I am a sucker for any romance movie and have watched The Kissing Booth and To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before on Netflix, and F-LOVED them both!

Fiona: Favorite foods, colors, music?

I have a love hate relationship with carbs. I love them, my waistline doesn’t! My favorite color in my office at work is purple and at home I have fall colors…denim blues, oranges, greens, and beige.

While I usually choose my music based on mood, I have an eclectic collection that ranges from generational to pop culture. When I run, I listen to hard rock or rap. When I read, I listen to classical piano. If I don’t really care, I listen to whatever is on the radio.

Fiona: Imagine a future where you no longer write. What would you do?

If I could no longer write, I’d voice record my thoughts. I have to get them out of my head somehow!

Fiona: You only have 24 hours to live how would you spend that time?

I would smother my family with as much love as I could, even more than I already do! I would tell them that their memories of me would never fade and I would still be with them in their hearts. I would give them the peace of mind to know that no matter what they did in life, I would be supporting them in spirit.

Fiona: What do you want written on your head stone?

While I would love it to say, “She lived life to the fullest with no regrets” I know that I already have regrets and what ifs in my life that need to be rectified. But I’m working on living life to the fullest, while writing one word at a time!

Here is my interview with Olga Gibbs

Hello and welcome to my blog, Author Interviews. My name is Fiona Mcvie.

Let’s get you introduced to everyone, shall we? Tell us your name.

Olga Gibbs

Fiona: Where are you from?

UK

Fiona: A little about your self (ie,  your education, family life, etc.).

There’s not much to tell, really. Just like everyone else, I went to school, then went to University and got myself a degree in Business and Management; worked for a while in insurance but it was so soul-crushing that I left and instead, decided to do outreach work with teenager, which I still do. I really enjoy working with teenagers: they are fantastic, inspiring, strong and resilient and I’ve written “Heavenward” for them.

Fiona: Tell us your latest news.

My book “Heavenward” has been re-released (is there such thing?) with a new gorgeous cover and under a new publisher and currently I’m busy writing book 2 “Hallow” of Celestial Creatures series.

Fiona: When and why did you begin writing?

My interest in creating stories came when I was about fifteen and I have my secondary school teacher to thank for it. She was always very passionate about literature and the written word. I remember she used to say: “Revolution can be started with one word – written word. So choose it carefully.”

Fiona: When did you first consider yourself a writer?

I’ll let you know when I feel or call myself one. I’m just about accepting “storyteller” as a job description. 😀

Fiona: What inspired you to write your first book?

This is not the first book written, but the first published.
First I had my character – Ariel. I had her for a few years now. She lived with me, inside me and one day when I was ready to write, I wondered what I could do with her. For her. She lived an incredibly tough life and I wanted her to have something good for a change. I wanted to give her the power back and for good measure to throw a humanity in it, to put us all at her mercy.

I’ve written this book for all girls out there, like Ariel, powerless at this moment, struggling, emotionally and mentally. With this book I wanted to tell them, that they’re an incredible universe of their own, an archangel, who can change the world if they wish, that their past does not define them.

Fiona: How did you come up with the title?

I wanted to relay the Celestial Lore in my title, so I was playing with words associated with it: Heaven, Hell. Angels and demons are too on the nose and too overused in my opinion. “Demon this, demon that”. Pretty much same with angels. So I was playing with word “Heaven” and ended up with “Heavenward”, which is quite apt, as my main character is an average girl, who literally is taken to Heaven; moving to Heaven – “Heavenwards”.

Fiona: Do you have a specific writing style? Is there anything about your style or genre that you find particularly challenging?

All reviewers seem to agree that my writing style is very descriptive, eloquent. I think it’s a must when you’re writing fantasy or horror and “Heavenward” is currently positionedbetween these two and YA. In writing fantasy you can’t get away with poor choice of words. I think stakes are higher there because you’re building a completely new, unknown to anyone but you, world and you need to explain everything. Nothing can be taken for granted there. So yes, I think a quality descriptions are “the must” in fantasy genre.

Fiona: How much of the book is realistic and are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?

Ariel is a fused character. She is every girl. She can be any girl. Ariel’s childhood is written partly from my own. The first line of the story echoes my constant childhood fear. She is any girl who has difficult family life, every runaway, every abused girl. She can be anyone: a girl you see every day at the bus stop on your way to school, that quiet girl in your class, or maybe the one who lives in the house down the street, with constantly closed curtains.

Fiona: To craft your works, do you have to travel? Before or during the process?

I think to write fantasy, especially dark fantasy, you need to be a little bit crazy. And travel? It’s optional, as you tent to bring your craziness with you, wherever you go.

Fiona: Who designed the covers?

Perie Wolford. I came up with the concept and he delivered. Brilliantly, I think.  My main request was an abstract image. I wanted to stay away from images of real people, real photographs. I wanted for the readers to imagine the main character. I wanted her to be anyone. I was taking a risk with unconventional cover, but I think this risk paid off. I take risks in my life all the time. Publishing the novel is a proof to my insanity. 😀

Fiona: Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

This book is an empowering book; for every girl out there, who’ssuffered. Message is that they are an incredible universe of their own, a strong archangel, who can change the world if they wish, that their past does not define them.

Fiona: Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?  Who is your favorite writer, and what is it about their work that really strikes you?

I’ve read Susan Ee about a month ago (just because it’s about angels as well and I wanted to check out the competition). I liked it. I liked the fresh concept and although we both starting with a “normal girl” mine is an angel, and the one who can wipe out the humanity should she choose to.

But my inspirations (and aspirations) are Stephen King and Martina Cole. I love these two. Dark, gritty nature of their books; dark for different reasons.

Fiona: Outside of family members, name one entity that supported your commitment to become a published author.

Ha! None. And still none, apart from my husband and my girls. But now I have fans of my story, of my book and their support and enthusiasm keep me going and empowers me.

Fiona: Do you see writing as your career?

Yes and I damn sure would love to! I can spend 10-12 hours writing in one day and I would love it. Sometimes though, I would spend countless sleepless nights, unable to sleep because I’m thinking about my book, storyline or how to progress the story from one point to next. But I still enjoy it. So, yeah, fingers crossed it will turn into a career that will provide for my family.

Fiona: If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?

I want to say “yes” but…I will say “no”. Otherwise it will not be the book I’ve written and people loved. And besides, I don’t think that anything good ever comes from “Cooda-wooda-shooda”. Past is past, we need to learn from it, let go and move on.

Fiona: Did you learn anything during the writing of your recent book?

We’re always learning in life – no matter what we do! And it would be very silly not to learn a thing or two from your experiences, no matter how small (or “life-shattering”) they are. I’ve learnt a lot and as I continue to write and publish, I’m sure that I’ll learn hell-load more. But we’ll see how this knowledge will serve me later.

Fiona: If your book was made into a film, who would you like to play the lead?

One of my friends (writer, as well) asked me this once and I’ve got an answer for you:

Three leading roles:

Ariel – Dakota Fanning

Sam – Charlie Hunnam as “Jax” from Sons of Anarchy

Rafe – Iwan Rheon

By the way, readers are commenting on how they could see this book being made into a movie and it would be a great watch! I guess because of the new and unique world that I’ve created there.

Fiona: Any advice for other writers?

I hate giving advice and hate receiving one. “Not one size fits all” – that’s probably as far as I’ll be willing to go in advice giving. 😀

Fiona: Anything specific you want to tell your readers?

Life is not full of fluffy unicorns and dancing on the rainbows. Shit happens, we get hurt. Sometimes badly, sometimes it leaves deep and ugly scars forever. But all that we can do is to heal ourselves, as best as we can, and move on. Sometimes we lucky to have help in healing, but sometimes we need to do it ourselves.

Fiona: What book are you reading now?

I’ve been swamped lately, so last book I’ve read was Martina Cole’s “Family”.

Fiona: Do you remember the first book you read?

I don’t. Probably some usual nursery rhymes type.

Fiona: What makes you laugh/cry?

My children. They can make me laugh and cry. Sometimes both at the same time.

Fiona: Is there one person, past or present, you would love to meet? Why?

I can’t go for one. It’s like asking one drink to satisfy all your needs: maybe doable, but extremely boring. So I’ve got a few for you: my writing heroes (above), Dalai Lama, my grand-parents – both highly decorated in WW2 veterans & strong people. Even now when I’m deciding what to do or best way to do something, I think of my grandma and thinking what she would’ve done or said.

Fiona: Do you have any hobbies?

If I have time for one I love baking, even when I’m in a crabby mood and throwing ingredients together. Not following the recipe, cakes turn out nice.

I love, love to travel! If I could, I would spend all my money on travel.

Fiona: What TV shows/films do you enjoy watching?

Love: “Sons of Anarchy”, “Sopranos”, “Gomorrah”, “Games of Thrones” (see the dark theme?..)

But I love to watch “Middle” now and again: funny, dysfunctional family, tightly-pressed by finances. It always making me laugh.

I’ve watched “Three billboards outside Ebbing Missouri” two weeks ago and absolutely loved that movie! Scarily, I see a lot of myself in that woman…

Fiona: Favorite foods, colors,  music?

Probably freshly caught and cooked seafood is something that I will never say no to. I don’t have favourite colours – my colour preference depends on the mood and the season.

Music?Nothing nasal and whiny. And no violent rap, glorifying abuse or torture, especially directed towards females. Otherwise my taste is eclectic. I’m open to many artists and genres, depending on the mood I’m in: anything from AC/DC to George Michael, Years &Years to jazz & soul.

Fiona: Imagine a future where you no longer write. What would you do?

Oh my god. I don’t like this future at all!

Fiona: You only have 24 hours to live how would you spend that time?

On the beach, under blistering sunshine, with my children around me, playing . And seafood salad to eat! 😀

Fiona: What do you want written on your head stone?

“She no longer gives a f**k”. Stars are for your younger audience benefit.

Although if you ask other people what should be written there, the response and advice will vary greatly: from some long opus of adoration to slagging of disobedient, too-honest and direct, disagreeable woman. J

Poetry/songs/short stories/cartoons/etc… throughout my life, I guess. My published work came about… a couple years ago now.

Fiona: When did you first consider yourself a writer?

I guess once my book was on the market, I still don’t fully consider myself a ‘writer’, I guess.

Fiona: What inspired you to write your first book?

“Rituals” was conceptualized during an unconstitutional 10 month stent in a rather hellish facility… case was thrown out as it should have been from the start (that’s right, I won against the government) … Anyway, I can’t get into much detail about all that (at least right now). Looking back, the creation of this series/world/universe, helped to keep me sane in a very dark, odd, and tumultuous learning experience. The original manuscripts are handwritten, roughly 2-3,000 pages of relevant text and hundreds of doodles and concepts. This series is designed for longevity and adaptation to any sort of artistic/entertainment platform.

Fiona: How did you come up with the title?

It just sort of ‘hit me’. I’m a very ritualistic person, as are most other humans. Short, relevant to the material, mailable to the tone of the series.

Fiona: Do you have a specific writing style? Is there anything about your style or genre that you find particularly challenging?

I’m no writing or English major, I don’t consider myself to necessarily have a ‘style’… Lots of dialogue and ground to cover, doing so by following several intertwining story arcs. I like melancholy and crazy…

Fiona: How much of the book is realistic and are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?

“Rituals” is a fantasy series… Given the time that the story was conceived, I could only say that a lot of pieces of me come out. There’s a lot of ‘idealization’, partnered with constant war and discord.

Fiona: To craft your works, do you have to travel? Before or during the process?

No. I’m quite low-budget and low-tech at the moment.

Fiona: Who designed the covers?

Someone at Bookbaby… The first book’s cover is a result of me telling them something to the extent of, “I want blood and white”. They did a phenomenal job, inside and out. I’m hoping to have a custom cover and some maps (bells and whistles) for book 2, but all that adds up kind of quick.

Fiona: Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

Resiliency. Faith. Finding your way through the in between.

Fiona: Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?  Who is your favorite writer, and what is it about their work that really strikes you?

I’ve never really read another book… I’m an auditory and visual learner… I came into this game very fresh, “Rituals” is just ‘me’.

Fiona: Outside of family members, name one entity that supported your commitment to become a published author.

This has been a solo operation other than some family assistance.

Fiona: Do you see writing as a career?

 Ideally. Yes.

Fiona: If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?

No… well… I need to read over book 2 again, but it’s pretty much ready for the professional touches.

Fiona: Did you learn anything during the writing of your recent book?

 I’m just having fun.

Fiona: If your book was made into a film, who would you like to play the lead?

, I can`t say

Fiona: Any advice for other writers?

 Just do your thing, comrades.

Fiona: Anything specific you want to tell your readers?

Help this puppy grow. You won’t be disappointed.

Fiona: Do you remember the first book you read?

 Nope.

 Fiona: What makes you laugh/cry?

 Hard to say these days.

Fiona: Is there one person, past or present, you would love to meet? Why?

King Solomon the man was smart

Fiona: Do you have any hobbies?

Art, music, gaming… I used to be in better shape.

Fiona: What TV shows/films do you enjoy watching?

Superheroes and wars are always good.

 Fiona: Favorite foods, colors,  music?

Sushi. Black (if that counts)… I really don’t know otherwise.

Fiona: Imagine a future where you no longer write. What would you do?

 Hard to predict.

Fiona: You only have 24 hours to live how would you spend that time?

I’m already somewhat of a high-functioning psychopath, so… It would be interesting to see what triggered.

Fiona: What do you want written on your head stone?

 “Finally”

Fiona: Do you have a blog or website readers can visit for updates, events and special offers?

Not really. @DragonFrisky is my twitter. Aduro Umbra. 3 is FB. Like I said, I’m still a small operation, but we’re just getting started.
