Hello and welcome to my blog, Author Interviews. My name is Fiona Mcvie.
Let’s get you introduced to everyone, shall we? Tell us your name. What is your age?
Anjalee Scott; 29
Fiona: Where are you from?
Originally, I’m from Missouri.
Fiona: A little about your self (ie, your education, family life, etc.).
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in education; I have 2 sisters and my parents are still together. I have a Great Dane named Gabe.
Fiona: Tell us your latest news.
I’m almost finished with my 2nd MC novel, Shameless. It’s about a wealthy daddy’s girl who decides to find her own way in life, and partly with the help of a rough-around-the-edges biker.
Fiona: When and why did you begin writing?
2016; I’ve always been a voracious reader and have dabbled in poetry. I just wanted to give writing a try.
Fiona: When did you first consider yourself a writer?
Sept. 2016 when my 1st book came out.
Fiona: What inspired you to write your first book?
It was just something that I wanted to try.
Fiona: How did you come up with the title?
Originally, my story was going to be about a reunited couple, but the man was married. Then I decided to change that aspect of the story, since I’m totally against infidelity, but I still liked the title.
Fiona: Do you have a specific writing style? Is there anything about your style or genre that you find particularly challenging?
No, I don’t have a specific style. Some of my stories are in 1st person, while others are in 3rd. It’s a challenge to switch up topics in the erotica category. I’ve written MC, BDSM, Mafia, and a Rocker Romance (still in editing).
Fiona: How much of the book is realistic and are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?
Just the good sex. 😉
Fiona: To craft your works, do you have to travel? Before or during the process?
No, but I do research the areas I’m writing about.
Fiona: Who designed the covers?
Xcite! DesignZ does my covers.
Fiona: Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
Enjoy the sensual side of yourself.
Fiona: Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest? Who is your favorite writer, and what is it about their work that really strikes you?
Honestly, I spend so much time writing that I have little to read. However, I do enjoy books by Shannon Drake. Her books are sexy paranormal stories.
Fiona: Outside of family members, name one entity that supported your commitment to become a published author.
Alicia Freeman, P.A. (she has beta read all my stories)
Fiona: Do you see writing as a career?
I certainly hope so! I currently write full-time and would like to continue doing so.
Fiona: If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?
No, I love Miss Mafia just the way it is.
Fiona: Did you learn anything during the writing of your recent book?
My latest release is Miss Mafia, so I learned a lot about the Mafia and the FBI while writing it.
Fiona: If your book was made into a film, who would you like to play the lead?
Fiona: Any advice for other writers?
Have thick skin. Not all reviews are going to be what you wanted to hear, but that’s because not everyone likes the same things.
Fiona: Anything specific you want to tell your readers?
Thank you so much for your support! I love your feedback, and I love, love, love hearing the question, “When is your next book coming out?”
Fiona: What book are you reading now?
Cross Country by James Patterson
Fiona: Do you remember the first book you read?
No. I’ve been reading since I was little, but I do remember Beverly Cleary being my favorite author back then.
Fiona: What makes you laugh/cry?
The endings of my books always make me cry, and I try to throw humor into each one too. My parents have sarcastic senses of humor, so it rubbed off on me 😊
Fiona: Is there one person, past or present, you would love to meet? Why?
Marilyn Monroe because she turned her life around after growing up with abuse, and I find her story fascinating.
Fiona: Do you have any hobbies?
I spend as much as possible playing with my dog. I also love volleyball.
Fiona: What TV shows/films do you enjoy watching?
Comedies and sweet family shows, such as Little House on the Prairie. I also like crime shows like Criminal Minds, Cold Case, and the CSI dramas.
Fiona: Favorite foods, colors, music?
Italian cuisine, pink, and 90’s music.
Fiona: Imagine a future where you no longer write. What would you do?
I’d probably sleep all day out of boredom.
Fiona: You only have 24 hours to live how would you spend that time?
I’d spend it with my loved ones, playing board games, laughing, and enjoying each other’s company.
Fiona: What do you want written on your head stone?
If you can read this, you are standing on my boobs.
Fiona: Do you have a blog or website readers can visit for updates, events and special offers?
