Hello and welcome to my blog, Author Interviews. My name is Fiona Mcvie.

Let’s get you introduced to everyone, shall we? Tell us your name. What is your age?

Hi Fiona , My pen name is J Thompson, also known as Jenn or Dolly and I’m 34.

Fiona: Where are you from?

Stoke on Trent , staffordshire UK

Fiona: A little about your self (ie,  your education, family life, etc.).

I am happily married to the beast aka Steve. 11 years now. I currently work full time as a dental nurse along with my writing and making swag. We have no kids but we have a fur baby named Smudge. Myself and the hubs love working out, watching films, eating and exploring.

Fiona: Tell us your latest news.

mmmm latest news….I am happy to say that the amazing Mina Carter and myself are co-authoring another story together..

Fiona: When and why did you begin writing?

I started writing about 8 years ago, I used to role play characters on twitter and that gave me the confidence to put words on paper instead of twitter.

Fiona: When did you first consider yourself a writer?

To be honest I still don’t, i see myself as someone aspiring to be a writer. You never stop learning in this business

Fiona: What inspired you to write your first book?

A dream…that was it and the pushy encouragement of a close freind.

Fiona: How did you come up with the title?

It just popped into my head
Fiona: Do you have a specific writing style? Is there anything about your style or genre that you find particularly challenging? I’m still finding my style if that makes sense, but i do find writing PNR especially in the UK has its own challenges. PNR is not as big over here as it is in say the USA

Fiona: How much of the book is realistic and are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?

PNR is meant to be unrealistic but there are a few things that are me through and through. i think every author puts a slice of their soul into every book they write.

Fiona: To craft your works, do you have to travel? Before or during the process?

Research and I read a lot. Gets the creative juices flowing

Fiona: Who designed the covers?

I am lucky to have not one but two cover designers for my books. For the soul mate series the awesome Jada D’lee is their creator and for my other works the fabulous JC Clarke @ the Graphic shed.

Fiona: Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

I think most of my stories encourage the believe in yourself and in love. they are romance after all

Fiona: Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?  Who is your favorite writer, and what is it about their work that really strikes you?

I love PNR so Gena showalter and Kresley cole are my unicorns. But new authors i have met some amazingly talented writers but they are so many of them i would need a whole page to mention them. but i can name a couple that i adore. Kylie C stewart, AJ Love, Mina Carter

Fiona: Outside of family members, name one entity that supported your commitment to become a published author.

My long time buddy and the one that does a happy dance and the “I told you so” dance Cathy. she is the one that has pushed me from the start

Fiona: Do you see writing as a career?

Yes I hope to make it a career, I love doing it and it’s my passion.

Fiona: If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?

Possibly add to it. but I let the characters dictate the story.

Fiona: Did you learn anything during the writing of your recent book?

Relax and definitely dont stress or put pressure on yourself when writing.

Fiona: If your book was made into a film, who would you like to play the lead?

Depends on which book hehe. but for SoulKiss my first book Arcaeus would have to be played by Karl urban..

Fiona: Any advice for other writers?

Just got for it, believe in yourself
