Hello and welcome to my blog, Author Interviews. My name is Fiona Mcvie.

Hi, Miss Fiona! It’s so great to be here today! Thank you so much for having me!

Let’s get you introduced to everyone, shall we? Tell us your name. What is your age?

Of course! I’m Angel Mystique, and yes, it’s my pen name. I’m in my twenties. A youngin’ *laughs*

Fiona: Where are you from?

Born and raised in the Peach State.

Fiona: A little about your self (ie,  your education, family life, etc.).

My other career is on the other spectrum. I went to college for a totally different field and I love what I do! Luckily, my current schedule allows me the freedom and luxury to write more. (Yay!) I wish I had a dog or a cat or some fish lol. But I don’t. My mother means the world to me, and my boyfriend is my other half.

Fiona: Tell us your latest news.

I’m currently working on a “just for fun” project. I released a post of my muses recently on my Facebook page, but if you Google models Andre Douglas and Alexis Gaube, you’ll see my pretty people. It’s targeted at 50K. No, I’m not NaNo-ing it lol.

Fiona: When and why did you begin writing?

I loved reading ever since I was a child. Thank you, Mommy! She used to read to me all the time, until I could read myself. Writing called me in the fourth grade. I picked up a pencil and wrote a 300 page novel (that was horrible!) and haven’t looked back since. Unfortunately, said novel was stolen and isn’t in my possession any longer. (I’ve had to rebuild stories, ideas, and muses from the ground up nearly three times. It’s not fun. Thank goodness for Google Drive!)

Fiona: When did you first consider yourself a writer?

*ponders* Can I say that I still don’t? Well… I really don’t. I guess I’ll feel like a writer when I finish this first contemporary novel. Here’s hoping.

Fiona: What inspired you to write your first book?

Can I go with my first completed work, which would be my latest release, oddly? I wrote it in seven days in November of 2016. Put it up on Wattpad, and the story took off. Took it down for edits, and published it February 12, 2018. My current relationship very loosely inspired LOVE SO BEAUTIFUL.

Fiona: How did you come up with the title?

The title just fit. No real explanation as to where it came from. My titles tend to find me.

Fiona: Do you have a specific writing style? Is there anything about your style or genre that you find particularly challenging?

I love writing in first person. It has shifted from first person past to first person present so many times. That’s my struggle. Tense hopping. It’s a pain lol.

Fiona: How much of the book is realistic and are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?

I will happily admit that my Heroines all have bits and pieces of me and my emotions in them. I have a muse for my Heroes. He knows who he is *thanks, sweetheart.*

Fiona: To craft your works, do you have to travel? Before or during the process?

Unfortunately, no. I don’t travel as much as I would like period. Hopefully, that changes soon.

Fiona: Who designed the covers?

Some were gifted. Others, I did. Now that I have a Cover Artist, I’m hoping they will be more in sync with my Romantic Realism brand.

Fiona: Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

That love (and all of its components) is what matters. People need love.

Fiona: Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?  Who is your favorite writer, and what is it about their work that really strikes you?

So many! Where do I begin! Siera London, Twyla Turner, Xio Axelrod, Kim Golden, Naima Simone, Jacinta Howard, Olivia Gaines, Chevelle Allen, Rachel Jonas, Raven St. Pierre, and so many others!

Fiona: Outside of family members, name one entity that supported your commitment to become a published author.

My boyfriend. Hands down. He’s still pushing me, and I thank him and love him for being here and wanting me to succeed daily. You are truly my BAE, Sweetheart.

Fiona: Do you see writing as a career?

Yes. Without question.

Fiona: If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?

I wouldn’t. I tried to give Josiah and Peyton a sequel, then decided against it. I love where they left me.

Fiona: Did you learn anything during the writing of your recent book?

Writing every day can be a thing for me.

Fiona: If your book was made into a film, who would you like to play the lead?

Alexis Gaube. Definitely. And Andre Douglas. Those two… are so clear in my head.

Fiona: Any advice for other writers?

Just write. Don’t ever stop, even on days when you can only manage one word. Progress is progress, and you will be so happy in the long-run when you reach “THE END’. And have fun and fall in love with your WIPs.

Fiona: Anything specific you want to tell your readers?

Thank you! Seriously. I wouldn’t be publishing if it wasn’t for you.

Fiona: What book are you reading now?

Ohhh. Nothing. I have no time. *hangs head in shame and hides in a closet* I finished HIS MUSE by Twyla Turner and ON A RAINY NIGHT IN GEORGIA by Olivia Gaines. I’m patiently waiting on some more reads to pull me away from writing.

Fiona: Do you remember the first book you read?

Sadly, I can’t say that I do.

Fiona: What makes you laugh/cry?

Very sappy love stories.

Fiona: Is there one person, past or present, you would love to meet? Why?

I can’t say that there’s one in particular… But…. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Michael Jackson, Dr. Maya Angelou, Kem, and Whitney Houston. I would just want to be in their presence for a day or so… Just to glean from them.

Fiona: Do you have any hobbies?

I wish… Singing sometimes. Writing is my hobby and passion.

Fiona: What TV shows/films do you enjoy watching?

Scandal, Timeless, Everything Everything, Power, Siesta Key, The Resident!

Fiona: Favorite foods, colors,  music?

Thai, Chinese, Japanese, red, mac and cheese, spaghetti, R&B (old school) and gospel.

Fiona: Imagine a future where you no longer write. What would you do?

Question the creator of that future and ask why they would be so cruel.

Fiona: What do you want written on your head stone?

Beloved Wife, Mother, Daughter, Friend, and Author… She loved loudly and deeply, better than anyone ever imagined or hoped to be loved in return.

Fiona: Do you have a blog or website readers can visit for updates, events and special offers?

I sure do!
