Let’s get you introduced to everyone, shall we? Tell us your name. What is your age?
My name is Hunter Marshall and I’m a kid at heart
Fiona: Where are you from?
Fiona: A little about your self (ie, your education, family life, etc.).
I am acountry music and rock lovin’ cowgirl who LOVES books and jewelry! I am a domestic violence/adultery survivor. I have Cerebral Palsy, chronic pain, CPTSD, anxiety and depression, among other health issues, but that doesn’t stop me from being a wife, mom of two of the awesomest kids on the planet (I’m not biased)) ☺️, social worker, author and the assistant to an online business, The Finishing Touch Jewelry Boutique– my mom, JaNae is the owner
Fiona: Tell us your latest news.
I just finished the rough draft of my second stand alone called Love’s Dark Secret and will have the third edition of Wake Up! Based on a true story of abuse and betrayal out fairly soon and am working on another project
Fiona: When did you begin writing?
I was 4 when I could write the alphabet, but I had been enthralled by words even before that
Fiona: When did you first consider yourself a writer?
When I held the first proof of Wake Up in my hands
Fiona: What inspired you to write your first book?
As a step toward healing from years of abuse
Fiona: How did you come up with the title?
My mom has titled both Wake Up and Love’s Dark Secret—she is great at it! I just give her the summary and she comes up with it
Fiona: Do you have a specific writing style? Is there anything about your style or genre that you find particularly challenging?
I don’t. I write what I know and I guess that would be the challenging part… writing about tough subjects
Fiona: How much of the book is realistic and are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?
Wake Up! is based on my tumultuous first marriage
Fiona: To craft your works, do you have to travel? Before or during the process?
Not yet, but it would be fun

Fiona: Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
Wake Up! – it would be that although getting out and staying out of an abusive relationship is difficult, it is possible— surround yourself with tons of support
Fiona: Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest? Who is your favorite writer, and what is it about their work that really strikes you?
I love Erica Kiefer and Mya O’Malley’s work. My favorite author is
Fiona: Outside of family members, name one entity that supported your commitment to become a published author.
There are too many to name
Fiona: Do you see writing as a career?
It would be nice, but I would write even if I didn’t make money at it, which I don’t yet
Fiona: If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?
Not yet… guess we’ll see what my betas have to say
Fiona: Did you learn anything during the writing of your recent book?
I learned that the characters sometimes have their own agenda
Fiona: If your book was made into a film, who would you like to play the lead?
If Wake Up was made into a movie, I think Jennifer Morrison from Once Upon a Time would be awesome!
Fiona: Any advice for other writers?
Never, ever give up. Keep writing
Fiona: Anything specific you want to tell your readers?

My kids, anything with infants in it

I would love to meet my editor, CM Wright bc she gets me

Fiona: What TV shows/films do you enjoy watching?
Eight Seconds is my favorite movie, it it makes me cry every time, I love to watch Investigation Discovery and Lifetime
Fiona: Favorite foods, colors, music?
Food: anything my momma makes
Colors: dark purple and black
Music: country and rock/heavy metal are my favorites, but I like all kinds
Fiona: Imagine a future where you no longer write. What would you do?
Be a mom and find another way to use my social work knowledge since I can’t work
Fiona: Do you have a blog or website readers can visit for updates, events and special offers?
I have a blog, but have a difficult time keeping up with it and I haven’t built my website yet…
