Fiona: Tell us your latest news.

My first book will be releasing on February 10, 2018

Fiona: When and why did you begin writing?

I started writing at an early age in a daily journal. My mom had my brothers and I write in our journals everyday telling her how my day was. I enjoyed it so I stuck with it.

Fiona: When did you first consider yourself a writer?

The day I started writing in my journal on a daily basis and saw nothing was forced no matter how little or how much I wrote.

Fiona: What inspired you to write your first book?

I wanted to begin writing my book 6 years ago, but I was writing from experience and inspiration and I had just begun the journey at the time and that made it impossible to start writing it then. I had to go through some years of experience to even begin to write my book. And 6 years later when my son was in the hospital needing to have his bone marrow transplant the inspiration hit me again. I had nothing but time to write and think of everything we’ve gone through up into that point.

Fiona: How did you come up with the title?

It was a personal hashtag I was using on social media when I would post something that was dealing with our journey expressing through the good and the bad God is good and we are blessed.

Fiona: Do you have a specific writing style? Is there anything about your style or genre that you find particularly challenging?

I personally write from experience and inspiration. I find this way more organic and not forced. Writing ideas flow naturally and honestly this way.

Fiona: How much of the book is realistic and are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?

All of my book is realistic and based on experience of my own life.

Fiona: To craft your works, do you have to travel? Before or during the process?

No, I don’t necessarily have to travel.

Fiona: Who designed the covers?

My publishing company I’m working with did. The Butterfly Typeface Publishing

Fiona: Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

I want people to grasp that, “you are not alone in this world & you do not have to settle”-  “Even Through the Storm” Keeping a positive outlook on life no matter the circumstances helps create change

Fiona: Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?  Who is your favorite writer, and what is it about their work that really strikes you?

I like and admire many authors out there rookies and veterans in the writing game. I can’t name just one. Marc Ehrman- Desiderata “Words for Life” , The Poems of Paul Laurence Dunbar -Jump Back Honey and Zane (all books) just to name a few

Fiona: Outside of family members, name one entity that supported your commitment to become a published author.

Fiona: Do you see writing as a career?

I do see writing as a career.

Fiona: If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?

I would do it all over again & no I wouldn’t change anything in my book.

Fiona: Did you learn anything during the writing of your recent book?

Yes, I had to literally relieve the emotions along with the thoughts I had to write my book. I wanted it to be as honest as possible.

Fiona: If your book was made into a film, who would you like to play the lead?

I would love to play the lead role. I could image it any other way honestly.

Fiona: Any advice for other writers?

I would tell new authors to be as honest and authentic as possible with their craft.

Don’t feel like you have to rush your work either.

Take your time
