Hello and welcome to my blog, Author Interviews. My name is Fiona Mcvie.

Let’s get you introduced to everyone, shall we? Tell us your name. What is your age?

My name is Cari Robe and I am 40.

Fiona: Where are you from?

I am originally from Florida but now live in New York.

Fiona: Tell us your latest news.

Releasing Fired Up: Davis Entertainment Book One is my latest news although working on Book Two is part of the coming attractions.

Fiona: When and why did you begin writing?

I have always written from a young age but I really shifted in the past year or two to make it a priority in my life.

Fiona: When did you first consider yourself a writer?

When I hit go live on Amazon!

Fiona: What inspired you to write your first book?

My first book was inspired by a song.  You have those earworms you can’t get rid of.  I had been getting back into writing more, poetry mostly, but when I heard Calvin Harris’ song, This is What She Came For the story of Kat and Landy came to me and I had to write it.  I fell in love with them. They have a very “pop” inspired story; it’s fast and positive and catches your attention.

Fiona: How did you come up with the title?

It took me awhile to come up with the title but I really liked the play on words.  I live between two worlds right now and that is my day job and my writing.  You’ll continue to see titles with double meaning as the series continues.

Fiona: Do you have a specific writing style? Is there anything about your style or genre that you find particularly challenging?

It took a little while to get into the dual first person POV.  I have to really take my time and get into each characters mind.

Fiona: How much of the book is realistic and are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?

My books are pure fantasy.  I write for the same reason I read and that is to escape a little.  My hope is that the readers who enjoy my work are the same.

Fiona: To craft your works, do you have to travel? Before or during the process?

For the projects I’m working on I am drawing from the travels I have already done in my life but I could see travel needed for more inspiration.

Fiona: Who designed the covers?

I am currently using an app to design my covers.

Fiona: Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

I just want them to have some fun, albeit a little dirty fun, with a sense of humor and hope for HEAs.

Fiona: Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?  Who is your favorite writer, and what is it about their work that really strikes you?

I ready A LOT but right now I read Alexis Angel, Alexis Riley, Jaxson Kidman, Casey London, Caitlyn O’Leary, Sharon Hamilton,  CristinHarber, Luke Prescott, Jacob Chance….the list keeps growing….

Fiona: Outside of family members, name one entity that supported your commitment to become a published author.

I have an amazing group of people, my Brunch Crew, who have supported me selflessly.  They are what kept me going.

Fiona: Do you see writing as a career?

That is the ultimate goal.  Turn what you love into your career.

Fiona: If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?

I would change everything and nothing.  There comes a time when you second guess what you’ve written and that’s why having others read it for you is so important.  Feedback during the writing process is essential for me.

Fiona: Did you learn anything during the writing of your recent book?

I am a lot more romantic than I thought I was.

Fiona: If your book was made into a film, who would you like to play the lead?

Henry Cavill would be Landy but Kat is much more fluid for me and I can’t pick who she would be yet.

Fiona: Any advice for other writers?

Don’t be scared, just do it

Fiona: Anything specific you want to tell your readers?

I truly appreciate everyone who is on this journey with me.  I am just getting started.

Fiona: What book are you reading now?

I just finished the 2nd in the series of Girl Gear by Alison Kent.

Fiona: Do you remember the first book you read?

Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein.

Fiona: What makes you laugh/cry?

Hallmark Movies make me cry every time.  I laugh at a lot.

Fiona: Is there one person, past or present, you would love to meet? Why?

Not sure…

Fiona: Do you have any hobbies?

I love to craft and scrapbook when I have time.  Also baking!

Fiona: Favorite foods, colors,  music?

Favorite Foods are – Chick-fil-a! Music I listen to everything most likely you’ll find me listening to Country or Alternative.

Fiona: Imagine a future where you no longer write. What would you do?

Fiona: What do you want written on your head stone?

Here lies Cari Robe she inspired people to follow their dreams too!
