Hello and welcome to my blog, Author Interviews. My name is Fiona Mcvie.
Hello. Thanks for having me.
Let’s get you introduced to everyone, shall we? Tell us your name. What is your age?
My name is Taylor Johns and I’ve turned 21, twice.
Fiona: Where are you from?
From a small town in southern Indiana.
Fiona: A little about your self (ie, your education, family life, etc.).
Well, I’m a mother of two teen boys…*sigh* I’ve been married to their dad for twenty-one amazing years.
Fiona: Tell us your latest news.
I’m currently working on a spin off from my first series, X-Treme Series. It wasn’t a book I had planned on writing, but a few readers wanted to know more about Dawg. So now he has his own story.
Fiona: When and why did you begin writing?
I’ve always had stories in my head… lol I wrote a little in high school, but it wasn’t a big thing. Over the years I thought about writing a book, but babies and life came first. It wasn’t until my dad’s sudden passing that me realize I shouldn’t wait until tomorrow to do something I want.
Fiona: When did you first consider yourself a writer?
I’ll let you know when I do. 😉
Fiona: What inspired you to write your first book?
With every book I’ve written, I have a scene that will play over and over in my head. With X-Treme Confusion I saw a scene of a woman recovering from being hurt and a hottie coming back from running teasing her with his hot body.
Fiona: How did you come up with the title?
Everything Xavier did in the book was confusing.
Fiona: Do you have a specific writing style? Is there anything about your style or genre that you find particularly challenging?
There is no rhyme or reason to how I write. 😊
The only thing I find challenging is finding time.
Fiona: How much of the book is realistic and are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?
The real part of my books is the personalities and mannerisms of friends and family. Sarcastic behavior or bad cooking skills, hits close to home.
Fiona: To craft your works, do you have to travel? Before or during the process?
I HATE traveling.
Fiona: Who designed the covers?
Fiona: Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
Be real, be you.
Fiona: Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest? Who is your favorite writer, and what is it about their work that really strikes you?
Every author grabs my attention. It takes a lot of strength to hit that publish button.
I have soooo many favorite authors. I’m not sure where to begin. The reason I love what I love?
Well, I love damaged alpha males and the strong woman that helps them fix themselves.
Fiona: Outside of family members, name one entity that supported your commitment to become a published author.
My bestie, Heather.
Fiona: Do you see writing as a career?
I would love to be able to quite my day job, focus solely writing and make it a career.
Fiona: If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?
Fiona: Did you learn anything during the writing of your recent book?
Fiona: If your book was made into a film, who would you like to play the lead?
Good question, but sadly I don’t have an answer. I love movies, but books to movies tends to take the magic out of the book.
Fiona: Any advice for other writers?
Yes, be true to yourself and find your tribe.
Fiona: Anything specific you want to tell your readers?
I love you. ❤
Fiona: What book are you reading now?
I’m reading Ghostface Killer by M.Never
Fiona: Do you remember the first book you read?
Berenstain Bears- Trouble with money
Fiona: What makes you laugh/cry?
Cat videos will make me laugh every time.
Fiona: Is there one person, past or present, you would love to meet? Why?
Elvis. I would love to listen to him sing in person.
Fiona: Do you have any hobbies?
Is having sex with my husband a hobby? No? Okay… lol Well, I love to watch TV. I also love to scrapbook and anything crafty. Oh, reading. I LOVE to read.
Fiona: What TV shows/films do you enjoy watching?
I’m a HUGE fan of Supernatural.
Fiona: Favorite foods, colors, music?
Food- my husband’s smoked ribs.
Music- I’m a music whore. I love all genre.
Fiona: Imagine a future where you no longer write. What would you do?
Read and watch tv.
Fiona: What do you want written on your head stone?
Ooooo, this is new one. Umm, I guess I would want something like, “Though she be but little, she is fierce… and sarcastic as f*ck.” 😉
The first line is a line from Shakespeare that I love.
