Hello and welcome to my blog, Author Interviews. My name is Fiona Mcvie.
Let’s get you introduced to everyone, shall we? Tell us your name. What is your age?
My name is Bria Lexor and I am 33 years old.
Fiona: Where are you from?
I am from Colorado.
Fiona: A little about your self (ie, your education, family life, etc.).
I have a 7 year old daughter she is awesome! I have 3 sisters and 1 brother, lots of nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
Fiona: Tell us your latest news.
In April of this year I signed with a great company: Foundations, LLC, and my Ya Urban Fantasy Trilogy The Gargoyle Redemption Trilogy will be releasing on September 25, 2017! All 3 books will be in one book which I am very excited about!
Fiona: When and why did you begin writing?
I begin writing back in 2010 because I wondered to myself if I could actually write a book, would anyone read it? So I started to write the first Gargoyle book.
Fiona: When did you first consider yourself a writer?
When I started looking for a publisher and was signed for the first time. It was a great feeling!
Fiona: What inspired you to write your first book?
At that time I wanted to stand out from other authors and wondered what I should write about that really hadn’t been written about at that time. And gargoyle shifters came to mind and I ran with it!
Fiona: How did you come up with the title?
I sat there and wondered what to name my book and when the title came to me I looked it up and saw that it was available so I used it.
Fiona: Do you have a specific writing style?
Is there anything about your style or genre that you find particularly challenging? No, whatever pops into my head as I’m writing I go with it. Well, writing something and having to write out a grid for a new Series I am working on is something I am currently struggling with. It should be easy but it’s still stalling for some reason.
Fiona: How much of the book is realistic and are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?
I used real places and careers to make it as realistic as possible. I wanted to be a singer when I was young so I used that to be the career choice for my main female character.
Fiona: To craft your works, do you have to travel? Before or during the process?
Unfortunately, I cannot travel right now, so I use Bing to look at pictures and gather the information of places for my books.
Fiona: Who designed the covers?
The fabulous Dawné Dominique who is a professional book cover artist.
Fiona: Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
Yes. You can be anything that you set your mind to become in life.
Fiona: Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest? Who is your favorite writer, and what is it about their work that really strikes you?
Yes. Simone Elise, she writes amazing work! My favorite writer would have to be Holly Black because she writes so beautifully and I enjoy her work very much.
Fiona: Outside of family members, name one entity that supported your commitment to become a published author.
My author friend Kathleen Ball. She has supported me from day one and I respect her so much!
Fiona: Do you see writing as a career?
Fiona: If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?
No, my first book has made me like what I write.
Fiona: Did you learn anything during the writing of your recent book?
Yes. That you have to plan out and make a grid from scratch.
Fiona: If your book was made into a film, who would you like to play the lead?
Female: Odeya Rush, and the male: Ryan Guzman
Fiona: Any advice for other writers?
There will be days you will want to give up. Don’t. Take a break and come back to your work and you will be surprised how taking a small break can help get your creativity back.
Fiona: Anything specific you want to tell your readers?
Thank you for sticking by my side throughout my writing journey! If you are new, welcome to my world of creativity!
Fiona: What book are you reading now?
I try not to read while I write. That way my ideas are my own and not meshing with someone else s work. I do read when I get a break though.
Fiona: Do you remember the first book you read?
No. I was really young. But I love reading when I can find the time to read a book!
Fiona: What makes you laugh/cry?
My daughter makes me laugh and cry. I am so proud of her! She is an amazing ball of energy!
Fiona: Is there one person, past or present, you would love to meet? Why?
Probably Pink. Because I love her music and she isn’t afraid to be herself!
Fiona: Do you have any hobbies?
I need to get back into drawing. I started to draw my own Manga Comic book Series back in 2999, I recently turned that idea into a new book Series!
Fiona: What TV shows/films do you enjoy watching?
I love to watch WWE, I’m a huge wrestling fan for sure! I also like: Spernatural, The Flash,Shadow hunters, Total Divas, Total Bella’s, anything Paranormal for sure!

Fiona: Imagine a future where you no longer write. What would you do?
I would probably be reading books. I love books so much!

She was a very talent author and she will be missed.
