Hello and welcome to my blog, Author Interviews. My name is Fiona Mcvie.

Let’s get you introduced to everyone, shall we? Tell us your name. What is your age?

Hello, My name is Stacey Fenner Blackwell

Fiona: Where are you from?

I am from Connecticut but I reside in Baltimore MD

Fiona: A little about yourself (ie,  your education, family life, etc.).

I have a degree in accounting. I work as a fulltime Bookkeeper and a part time Telephone assistant at the hospital. I have two daughters Jasmine & Janay and one grandson. I’m happily married to the love of my life Keith Blackwell we’re working on our third year of marriage although we’ve been together on and off for seventeen years.

Fiona: Tell us your latest news.

Recently I just launched my own Publishing Co. P& D publishing in honor of my late mother and brother. They were my two biggest supporters unfortunately the Lord called them both home.

Fiona: When and why did you begin writing?

I’ve been writing all my life. Writing has always been my strong suit.  All my Professors in college always told me that I was going in the wrong profession.

Fiona: When did you first consider yourself a writer?

2008 is when I decided that it was time to do what I love to do. Unfortunately things fell through for me. I didn’t give it a go again until 2015.

Fiona: What inspired you to write your first book?

My now Husband, we were on a break when I started writing my book. Writing was helping me get over my hurt and pain that I was dealing with.

Fiona: How did you come up with the title?

My former publisher helped me she had the Love Affair and I just added A Toxic.

Fiona: Do you have a specific writing style?

Is there anything about your style or genre that you find particularly challenging? I prefer to write in first person, third person I find to be very challenging.

Fiona: How much of the book is realistic and are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?

All my books are realistic, they’re all based on relationships either situations that I found myself in or family & friends, just with a twist.

Fiona: To craft your works, do you have to travel? Before or during the process?

So far, I haven’t wrote about any place that I personally have not been. I like to sit at home where I’m most comfortable and just let my mind flow.

Fiona: Who designed the covers?

I use several no one in particular, Angel Walker, Bryant Sparks, Drea Delgado, Thaila Gardner, & Jasmine Parker.

Fiona: Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

Of course, what’s the sense in writing if there isn’t a message? I want people to see themselves, find their faults, worth and self-esteem just to name a few. I want people to realize that if you’re not getting what you want from a relationship it’s okay to walk away, heal and do you. Life is short, get out of these toxic relationships that don’t mean you no good. Loneliness is only a mindset, stop doing what you’re doing and find healthiness.

Fiona: Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?  Who is your favorite writer, and what is it about their work that really strikes you?

New Author I would have to say Jesse Miller he’s an Author under my publishing company and his book The Cardholder Corporation is an awesome book. He really thought out of the box his creativity is so impressive. My favorite Author is T Styles, her creativity and imagination is definitely out of this world. Like who, thinks like her?

Fiona: Outside of family members, name one entity that supported your commitment to become a published author.

Both my Supervisors at both jobs and all my co-workers. They have been very supportive in my journey thus far.

Fiona: Do you see writing as a career?

That’s my goal all I want to do is write. My mind is always working in over drive. I just can’t type as fast these book enter my mind.

Fiona: If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?

Nope, I love how the story flows.

Fiona: Did you learn anything during the writing of your recent book?

I’m always learning something new. I keep an open mind but what I did learn was to be more prepared when giving readers a release date. Pacing myself is everything.

Fiona: If your book was made into a film, who would you like to play the lead?

Kofi Siriboe

Fiona: Any advice for other writers?

Do your research and don’t expect to become an overnight success.  Stay away from all the negative drama.

Fiona: Anything specific you want to tell your readers?

Thank you for supporting me. I will do my best to never disappoint.

Fiona: What book are you reading now?

Nothing, too busy trying to finish my first collaboration Kiss 4 Kiss, Cry 4 Cry with Christine Brown.

Fiona: Do you remember the first book you read?

It was a Danielle Steel book, I can’t remember which one.
