Fiona: How did you come up with the title?

When I was a runner and triathlete, I used Champion clothing. I used to joke with my niece and nephew and called myself uncle champion to make them laugh about my racing skills. The original title of Uncle Champion was “For The Love of Sara.” Sara Harmony is Christopher Uncle’s girlfriend. Christopher tells Sara the theme of his racing career was for the love of Sara, while they were in Hawaii at the world championship triathlon.

Girl With a Purpose was created after the thought process. The original title was My Twelve Girls. As remnents, it is the name of the race horse in chapter four.

Fiona: Do you have a specific writing style? Is there anything about your style or genre that you find particularly challenging?

I use a lot of script and talking by the characters.

Fiona: How much of the book is realistic and are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?

A lot of the racing, training, and details were actual experiences.

In Girl With a Purpose, I am Joey in the story and everything about him is true to the T. (except for the billions)
