Name G. A. Hauser
Where are you from?
Originally- New Jersey, but I have lived all over- including London.
Fiona: Tell us your latest news?
My newest book release is JEALOUSY, a gay erotic romance with multiple partners.
Fiona: When and why did you begin writing?
20 years ago, I tried to find what I write now, and couldn’t. So, I began writing to amuse myself. Once I got my first contract, I never looked back.
Fiona: When did you first consider yourself a writer?
I suppose I’ve always been. I began writing as a youth, and wrote short stories, poems, song lyrics, and eventually full-length novels.
Fiona: Do you have a specific writing style?
My work is character driven. I create them, and they take off from there. Outlines have never worked for me. My characters don’t like them!
Fiona: How did you come up with the title?
The title JEALOUSY was inspired by what was inside my characters’ head.
Fiona: Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
LOVE IS LOVE, IS LOVE, IS LOVE. You should not place limits on love, if anything, you should give it freely.
Fiona: How much of the book is realistic and are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?
Most of what I write is based in reality. My life has been a roller-coaster ride for decades- so personal stories, including wild times, are in all of my work.
Fiona: What books have most influenced your life most? a mentor?
I never had a mentor. I learned everything the hard way. But, after 141 books, it’s like playing a piano. Practice, practice…
Fiona: Name one entity that you feel supported you outside of family members.
That’s hard to say. It would have to be the fans, the readers, who continue to enjoy my movies and my books. So, it’s them.
Fiona: Do you see writing as a career?
Fiona: If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?
Nope. If I wanted to change it, I would. And well, there’s always the next one.
Fiona: Can you share a little of your current work with us?
‘JEALOUSY’ is about degrees of separation. Life is complex, and when you find out what really matters, you begin to find yourself.
Fiona: Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?
For me, it’s inspiring to create. I love the art, and the challenge to not do a formulated, predictable storyline. Just as a reader is thinking, ‘Ahh, I know where this is going,’ you don’t.
Fiona: Do you have to travel much concerning your book(s)?
I did. I traveled all across the world. I even went to Russia.
Fiona: Did you learn anything from writing your books and what was it?
I think I learn to be patient. Tolerant. Also, I try to be the best I can be, without thinking about who else is doing what. I love what I do. I’m a very lucky woman.
Fiona: If any of your books was made into a film who would you like to play the lead
Two of my novels are full length feature films. Capital Games – and Naked Dragon. I was very proud of the men who played the lead roles.
Fiona: Do you have any advice for other writers?
Yes! Just do your work. Stop worrying about the pitfalls. Do it because it’s your passion, your muse. Don’t allow the world, the politics, and the trolls dictate your life. Just be you.
Fiona: Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?
THANK YOU! I’d be nothing, absolutely nothing, without them.
Fiona: What book are you reading now?
I no longer read for pleasure. I just read to edit, proof and get it done!
Fiona: What do you want written on your head stone and why?
Funny you should ask. I do have a headstone already in place. It reads, ‘Mark Antonious Richfield died when GA’s pen was laid to rest.’ My fans will certainly understand what that means.
Fiona: What TV shows/films do you enjoy watching?
To be honest- few. I am not a big TV fan. I would like to see more gay erotica in the media, but I doubt it will happen.
Fiona: Favorite foods / Colors/ Music
I love good food, of every variety. My fav color is blue. And music, as well, I have diverse taste, from hard rock ie, Led Zeppelin, to soft folk, Shawn Colvin.
Fiona: If you were not a writer what else would you like to have done?
I would most likely still be a police officer.
Fiona: Do you have a blog/website? If so what is it?
THANK YOU for the opportunity to chat!!
here is my complete bio.
