Fiona: Tell us your latest news?
Currently, I’m working on Blush 2 Which I’m really excited about.
Fiona: When and why did you begin writing?
I began writing a young age. It was something I always wanted to do. I would make up stories, and play them out in my head. So one day I decided to put it to use.
Fiona: When did you first consider yourself a writer?
I first considered myself a writer when I was about 15 years-old. I wrote down a lot of things and my feelings to escape the drama of high school
Fiona: What inspired you to write your first book?
I would say the television show Scandal inspired me.
Fiona: Do you have a specific writing style?
Right now, I’m still learning my writing style. I’ve switched back in forth when I first start out, because I’m not sure what point of view I want. But that’s part of the process.
Fiona: How did you come up with the title?
Well I knew that I was going to make a second one, and I wanted a book that caught the reader’s eye. Not only that, my main character finds herself doing that a lot in the book.
Fiona: Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
Of course. I want readers to be able to step into the main character shoes, and feel what they feel. Not only, that but have a more positive view on women of color.
Fiona: How much of the book is realistic and are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?
Some of the book is based on my own experience. I would say 25%
Fiona: What books have most influenced your life most? a mentor?
Zane’s books would be my favorite Author.
Fiona: Name one entity that you feel supported you outside of family members.
Definitely college.
Fiona: Do you see writing as a career?
I do. It’s just starting from the bottom to work your way up. There are hundreds of people out there wanting the same things. And we’re all unique.
Fiona: Do you have any advice for other writers?
Keep going and don’t stop until you’re happy with where your at
Fiona: What book are you reading now?
I’m currently not reading any.

Great interview. It’s great that a show like Scandal inspires people to do great thing, it’s one of my personal favourite shows. I have read your book “Blush” and it is a great book. I look forward to reading “Blush 2”, good luck with it.
