Name Scarlett Flame

Age Over 21 🙂

Where are you from Manchester in the UK

A little about your self `i.e. your education Family life etc

I am a qualifed children’s nurse. I have a degree in nursing and a PgDip ( Master’s level) In Health Visiting. I love music and singing. I also love to read and to write for others to read too

Fiona: Tell us your latest news?

I have a new book that is going for editing very soon. I was hoping it would be out for Christmas but it looks like it may be the New Year now. I am also hosting an author signing event and a music gig in Manchester next year on 13th August 2016.

Fiona: When and why did you begin writing?

I began writing seriously about three and a half years ago. I have always loved to write and kept a diary. I began writing the book due to be published shortly and sent a sample to a friend I had made on twitter that was a published author. He said “Go for it.” and the rest is history.

Fiona: When did you first consider yourself a writer?

When I got my first good reviews which have been, for the most part 4 and 5 stars.

Fiona: What inspired you to write your first book?

I actually dreampt some of the story, and as I began to write about the characters they just somehow evolved.

Fiona: Do you have a specific writing style?

I write in the first person in the main. As if it is a sort of diary of events.

Fiona: How did you come up with the title?

I had help from a few author friends and we bandied about until we came up with the title of the book.

Fiona: Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

Not really, I think it explains BDSM better than 50 Shades of Grey though. I have a lot of friends

in the Lifestyle, both Doms and subs. They told me their stories and some parts of the book are based on true events

Fiona: How much of the book is realistic?

A LOT of the book is realistic and is based on expereinces of both myself and others too.

Fiona: Are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?

Events in my life and also a number of Doms and subs talked to me about their introductions to the Lifestyle too,.

Fiona: What books have most influenced your life most? a mentor?

Books – probably Lord of the Rings to be honest and as a mentor my good friend that was the first to tell me to continue to write is John Dolan, author of a number of books available though Amazon.

Fiona: What book are you reading now?

I am in the middle of two books at the moment. One is The Ties That Bind by Christina Mandara. The other is Eating From The Cherry Tree by Vivien Ella Walden. The first is a work of fiction and part of a series I have been following. The second is a memoir of sorts. Both excellent reads so far.

Fiona: Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?

Vivien is a new author to me, I am hoping she will be attending our Manchester event next year as a signing author.

Fiona: What are your current projects?

I have two on the go. The first is the first in a series called Dragon Queen, the title is The Prophecy Unfolds ( Dragon Queen) , and the second is a shorter story for a new anthology out for Valentine’s. I am a member of the Erotic Author’s Guild, and this is with other members and is being published by Syn Publishing. Eventually it will be released under the title A Valentine’s Bind. The title of the initial anthology though is tentatively entitled Indulgence.

Fiona: Do you have to travel much concerning your book(s)?

Fiona: Who designed the covers? The cover is based on a painting by a good friends of mine called Alan Hurley. He is an artist from Cork, Ireland. We met on twitter too.

Fiona: What was the hardest part of writing your book?

Editing was the hardest part. The book has since been re-edited a little, and I have plans for a further tweak after Christmas.

Fiona: Did you learn anything from writing your book and what was it?

I did learn a lot from writing the book, especially to listen to advise from fellow authors, and learning to accept help when offered too

Fiona: Do you have any advice for other writers?

Just write from the heart and write what you enjoy to read. Also, don’t stop reading other works from a variety of genres. Don’t just stick to the one you write in. Knowledge is essential and we all continue to learn throughout life.

Fiona: Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?

Just to say thank you to those that bought my books and an especial thank you to those of you that enjoyed my writing and left reviews.

Fiona: Do you remember the first book you read?

Yes it was Pinnochio by Carlo Collodi, and was a gift from my older brother, and his then girlfriend.

Fiona: What makes you laugh/cry?

Injustice, cruelty, especially to children and animals. Also unrequited love in films and on the television.

Fiona: Is there one person pass or present you would meet and why?

Hmm now that is a difficult one to answer. I think I would have liked to meet is Norma Jean aka Marilyn Monroe. She was so naturally beautiful and was unaffected and natural despite that.

Fiona: What do you want written on your head stone and why ?

That I loved and I was loved. Because I can think of nothing that I would want more than that.

Fiona: Other than writing do you have any hobbies ?

Yes I love to work in my garden, read, sing and I like to play in the quiz night at the pub with my friends. I also love horses and used to compete in working hunter on my pony Kelly.

Fiona: What TV shows/films do you enjoy watching?

I love sci-fi and fantasy. I am currently watching Extant on catchup but enjoy all Star Wars, Startrek, Serenity, Babylon 5, Dominion, Supernatural, all the DMC and Marvel stuff like Wolverine etc and X-men. I like an eclectic mix on television and film too. Big favourite is Dr. Who, Warehouse 13, Fringe all that sort of stuff really.

Fiona: Favorite foods / Colors/ Music

Favourite foods are Mexican, Indian, and a good old roast dinner.

Fiona: If you were not a writer what else would you like to have done?

I have been privileged to work as a children’s nurse and also as a craft worker too, as I used to teach crafts. I love children and have enjoyed some amazing times in the jobs I have done. Now is the time to concentrate on my writing though.

Fiona: Do you have a blog/website? If so what is it?

I have two blogs and a website too, although the website needs updating at the moment.
