Fiona: Tell us your latest news?
Just published my first novel, I’m working on the second book of the series as I do this interview.
Fiona: When and why did you begin writing?
I have always had an active imagination, I’ve always been an artist drawing and painting .. One day I went to Pens on Fire, a gathering of local authors in our state. I felt right at home and was encouraged to try my hand at it.
That was two years ago and here I am.
Fiona: When did you first consider yourself a writer?
When I help my printed copy of Kaycee’s Tattered Spirit in my hands.
Fiona: What inspired you to write your first book?
The thought just popped into my head one night while lying in bed.
Fiona: Do you have a specific writing style?
Fiona: How did you come up with the title?
It took a lot…. Thoughts, arguments, research. I knew what I wanted , just tweaking it to work.
Fiona: Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
Never settle for less than what YOU want. Don’t go through the motions of living, to please those around you. You are only who you allow yourself to be. You deserve to live your dreams and to be you. Hence my latest tattoo- “Dreams to Wings”
Fiona: How much of the book is realistic?
I pulled a lot of my inner insecurities and battles throughout my childhood, early adulthood into Kaycee’s character.
Fiona: Are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?
Yes some are.
Fiona: What books have most influenced your life most? a mentor?
The books that have most influenced my life…. Wow that’s a hard one… There are so many. The series that pops out the most – TK Leigh’s A beautiful Mess series.

Fiona: Do you see writing as a career?
Yes – one day
Fiona: If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?
No! Because everything was a learning experience. Like birthing pains…. However an epidural may have been nice .
Fiona: Do you recall how your interest in writing originated?
I used to hate reading and writing but always got good grade in English…. I suppose I suppressed it until I was ready.
Fiona: Can you share a little of your current work with us?
Reconciled- Kaycee continues to grown in her independence, she’s still very much in love with Mason.
They reunite thanks to a case she is working on, unaware he too is working, but as an informant. Things rekindle between them, but tragedy hits and ……
Fiona: Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?
When I back my character into a corner and think to myself, ” now how the hell am I gonna get out of this mess?”
Fiona: Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work?
Denise Grover Swank- she writes many genres and just gets better and better. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting her and spending a weekend with her, she’s a wonderful friend and mentor.

No not yet but hope to .

Writing the synopsis
Fiona: Did you learn anything from writing your book and what was it?
Don’t settle, be free, fight to be you
Fiona: Do you have any advice for other writers?
Don’t give up. Even when it’s not flowing… Just take a break. It will come back. ALWAYS keep a notebook with you to jot down ideas because they come at many different times.
