Fiona: Tell us your latest news?
My first book released on Friday Nov. 14
Fiona: When and why did you begin writing?
I used to write little stories even as a teenager out of boredom, but I always threw them away.
Fiona: When did you first consider yourself a writer?
Last year I decided to actually write a book and publish it.
Fiona: What inspired you to write your first book?
I was reading a book and thought “I could write better than this!” and decided to give it a go. No, I won’t tell what book it was.
Fiona: Do you have a specific writing style?
Honestly, when I start a book, I don’t know what all is going to happen. I just write what feels right to me.
Fiona: How did you come up with the title?
When I first thought up Christina, my thought was her attitude was that she would never again allow herself to be hurt
Fiona: Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
That just because you always hear negative doesn’t mean it’s true.
Fiona: How much of the book is realistic?
Fiona: Are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?
Some very loosely
Fiona: What books have most influenced your life most?
Probably Stephen Kings Green Mile. It was the first book that broke my heart.
Fiona: If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?
Hmmm, that’s a hard one. Probably Sonovia Alexander, she runs Snow Publishing (my publisher) and has taught me SOOOOOO much!!!
Fiona: What book are you reading now?
My current read is One to Hold by Tia Louise
Fiona: Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?
I don’t know how knew they really are, but they are new to me…. Marissa Honeycutt, Raine Storm, Don Abdul, Craig Lowe, Elaine Wood, Eva Simone, AM Madden, and Ethan Radcliff
Fiona: What are your current projects?
Only For Forever
Fiona: Name one entity that you feel supported you outside of family members.
Snow Publishing. They have an amazing family of authors that make you feel so welcome!
Fiona: Do you see writing as a career?
Fiona: If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?
No, not at this point anyway, lol.
Fiona: Do you recall how your interest in writing originated?
I had a very tough child hood and I used to daydream all the time about how I wished my life was. It grew from there.
Fiona: Can you share a little of your current work with us?
Let’s see, so far I have Candice (Candi) who for some reason is scared to death of men and this obnoxious conceited man named Tommy that won’t take no for an answer. He has to figure out why she flinches when he’s near so that he can get her in the sack, well, that’s his plan anyway. He’s never chased anyone so much in his life and can’t figure out why he can’t seem to just walk away from her.
Fiona: Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?
Time. It seems like I just started working on it and next thing I know I’m late for an appointment or something.
Fiona: Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work?
I don’t know if I can pick just one. Anne Rice is always a good read but lately I’ve been obsessed with the Crossfire series and I’m not really sure why maybe I just have to see how it ends.
Fiona: Do you have to travel much concerning your book(s)?
Not yet, but I’m sure that’s coming.
Fiona: Who designed the covers?
Fiona: What was the hardest part of writing your book?
When I got about 2/3 of the way done, I freaked out when I realized I was getting close to being done. It boils down to self-doubt.
Fiona: Did you learn anything from writing your book and what was it?
Writing is the easy part. All the promoting is the hard part.
Fiona: Do you have any advice for other writers?
Don’t doubt yourself. Push through and do it.
Fiona: Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?
Thanks!! I mean that from the bottom of my heart too. Without readers none of us would have a job.
Fiona: Do you remember the first book you read?
Stephen Kings The Dark Half
Fiona: What makes you laugh/cry?
My kids make me laugh and cry. Sometimes at the same time!
Fiona: Is there one person pass or present you would meet and why?
The entire Continental Congress. I’d make sure they gave equal rights to women and all races from the get go in America.
Fiona: What do you want written on your head stone and why ?
She was a great mom!! Because I hope my kids really feel that I am. That’s my biggest goal in life.
Fiona: Other than writing do you have any hobbies ?
